Are Palin Book buyers getting short changes
11/21/2009 | jimjohn2458

Just like in Columbus, Rochester NY fans waiting all night for Sarah Palin found out there were only 500 wristbands avaiable, instead of the 1000 promised.

there were only 500 wristbands available, instead of the 1000 promised.

So?

How do you know when you attend an event how many actual wristbands there are?

You can't tell by the size of the crowd, because a lot of families waiting in line only have one wristband (the other relatives are coming along just to see Sarah).

Therefore, seeing five people and assuming all five must have wristbands is likely incorrect.

And if you know ahead of time it's going to be 500 instead of 1000 then you know your odds just decreased by 50%.

There's no reason for anyone to get upset over any of this, IMO.

She said she’d sign 1000 books, she signs 500. She ran for a 4 year term, she serves half. A pattern is developing.

I guess half a Sarah is better then none.

Another thing to consider is that there are certainly those unhappy because they didn’t get their book signed.

Now, how often did this occur because those in the line had multiple books to be signed?

Because those in the line stood there and wanted to go on and on, talking to Sarah, at the expense of those waiting behind them?

I think we should realize that this was bound to occur, and it was bound to be exploited by the enemy, and deal with it and the real reasons it is occurring.

Thanks. Would have been nice to shut it down now.

I’m sure this was on the minds of the ‘you people’ waiting on line for the book signing. Just sayin’...

Up until yesterday, news reports and bookstore said first 1000. They found out THIS morning when the doors opened that it was going to be 500.

Since the bookstore handles the wristband/ticket end of the event, I can only assume it was they and not Sarah who changed the limit.

She's got three in one day set for Florida next week.

That's way, way, way too much.

Look at it this way: If you spend 60 seconds with someone signing their book, then it's going to take you 60,000 seconds (nearly 17 hours) to sign 1000 books.

How can Sarah have a 51-hour day signing books? (17 hours x 3 stops).

Even if she "only" signs 500 books per stop, that's still 25.5-hours in a 24-hour day.

You got to meet Sarah Palin in person, got her personal autograph, got her best selling book, and you're whining about some book store promotional wrist band?

You pathetic human being...

What the hell are you talking about? I have never gotten to meet Sara in person, gotten her personal autograph or bought her book (though I am going to later in the week). Some stores are hiding or not even carrying her book. It is that far a stretch to believe that some of these stores may also try to make her look bad at the expense of their own customers?

The look on that thing’s face tells the story. What a hate-filled wench. She’s shoving that magazine at Palin like she discovered old Alan in the bathroom with it. Which she probably did.

If she took three hours to sign 500 books, who could blame her? I was going to drive the hour to Rochester, but realized I’d have to get early this morning to get in line. No thanks...I’ll keep doing my part on the Web.

Yeah, a story written by Stephen King.

If one of these complainers had to go through what Sarah is going through during this, they would absolutely explode.

The problems are being mostly caused by the staffs at the bookstores who aren’t used to having this kind of response to events.

Sarah has even signed books ‘after’ the official signing.

She would, it is apparent, continue signing day and night because she’s that kind of person. However, it is not humanly possible, and that must be dealt with.

I hope posters here and lurkers, see a way to show some compassion and understanding.

Actually, after what happened in Indiana, with the liberal agitators causing the trouble, I have no doubt that Sarah's advance team called the bookstore and told them to limit the number of wristbands to 500 since she was finding that she could only sign about 500 books during the 3 hours allotted. The bookstore complied, but handled the sudden change of plans poorly.

Regardless, folks here need to that she's only one woman, and since Tuesday, I bet she has signed over 5,000 copies. Her wrist has to be hurting bad right now...

The wristband is what gets you in to get an autograph. i.e. They promised that 1000 people would get autographed books and only 500 were let in.

Apparently, they are letting people sign up to get an autographed sheet to insert into your book if you weren’t able to get a personally signed copy.

I guess half a Sarah is better then none.

Sit down and write your name one thousand times. Do this three times a day, day after day.

Oh... your actual output is what? .... zero?

It is easy to criticize if you don't have to actually do the same yourself.

So if a person buys 10 books and has one wrist band does he get all 10 signed? Seems confusing.

UPDATED: Ok, folks, here's a link: http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20091121/NEWS01/91121001/Sarah-Palin-book-signing-draws-long-line-of-people Perhaps I should have explained this more clearly:
At 8:00 am, the first 1000 folks were to get wristbands. These 1000 people would get there books signed by Sarah. You can view those rules here.
Again, the source for the report of only 500 came from my wife, who was/is at the scene.
Please excuse me as I have never posted a new article before. I figured her itinerary was known and I wouldn't have to source that. But I need to say something else as well (not that much off topic):

Fortunately, I have a good job.

Unfortunately, that job happens to be in the Dinosaur media (among the names it is called) where I get to watch how the media is manipulated DAILY to a certain political point of view(way left) . (BTW, I DONT work in the news gathering division). FR has surpassed Drudge for my regular news intake, yet I don't dare make that known at work, else as I was told,"they find ways to get rid of such people".

Now, I don't know if the Rochester paper will report on what my wife experience, and I don't reall care. But I thought that as Freepers, we didn't depend on the dinosaur media of all of our news. That on-the-scene- report from Rochester came from two women who pulled an all-nighter just to get a chance to meet her. One of those two women is also a regular at tea-party events in the western NY area. The other is a Fox News addict. Not whining mind you, I'm just sayin... I'd cut'em some slack.

Besides, Sarah still has our un-wavering support.

So, they are going to extra lengths to satisfy people.

Yet the MSM would have us believe different.

At least this part of your post is correct. The rest reads like the usual inanity from the self-loathing putz faction of the GOP.

By the way, it should be 'better than none'.
