Are Palin Book buyers getting short changes
11/21/2009 | jimjohn2458

Just like in Columbus, Rochester NY fans waiting all night for Sarah Palin found out there were only 500 wristbands avaiable, instead of the 1000 promised.

There were some VERY upset people.

I know, bro. Here's a pic of one VERY upset person who got ugly when she didn't get what she wanted....

You would have a better response if you provided your source:
-
http://www.10tv.com/live/content/local/stories/2009/11/21/story-sarah-palin-autographs.html?sid=102
-
And then at least a teasing quote from the story:
-
“...the Borders bookstore on Sawmill Road announced that the first 1,000 in line by the store’s 10 a.m. opening would be guaranteed to get their books signed. But Palin’s staff called the store and told the managers to cut back to 500 wristbands...”

Yes he will vote to debate.

But he has said he will not support the final bill, to end debate.

That vote also needs 60 votes. That is the vote where if senators like Lincoln vote to end debate, it will be the end of their career.

The multiple stops per day are wearing her out. Harper Collins shouldn't have done the tour this way. Earlier in the day she signed books for 1200 wristband bearers, meaning up to 2400 signatures, at Norwood, Ohio.

Oh Please! If someone wastes their money and time driving hundreds of miles to get a silly wristband... I’d love to meet Sarah Palin and get a book signed, but there is only one of her and millions of us. So the chances are slim that this can happen, especially since I am a productive member of society who has to work to support a family. So the productive ones are suppose to feel sorry for the ones who get to waste their time chasing after the Sarah bus?

O.k., noob, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and send you the links to stories explaining what is going on.

The fact of the matter is that Governor Palin only has a set amount of time in which to sign as many books as she can before heading out to the next venue. Real supporters will understand this.

However, reports are now surfacing that liberal agitators are infiltrating the lines, getting their wrist bands, deliberately NOT getting books signed, and then cutting a ruckus about it to once again try and make her look bad. Don't fall for it!

The bookstore is responsible for this, not Governor Palin.

You do realize that working people have days off, and that some people might be retired, right?

One thing I’d like to note. And a question.

If you were the one who had to spend all this time in the bookstores, and had to personally do every autograph, I bet you might start setting a limit. Especially after your wrist was swollen up to the size of a grapefruit.

We should consider she is doing the most possible, given the time. And being cheerful about it. As well as scheduling extra signings to try and get to everyone. (Which she is doing).

Also, she is not in control of how the bookstore manages the crowd and tickets.

How would you handle it?

I was in Borders yesterday, DeKalb, IL. No Sarah, no wristband, no waiting lines. But I bought her book anyway because I respect her and wanted it. I don’t need nor care about all that other crap. Those that do, I suspect, are rabble rousers. The more stories that crop up, like yours, the more folks will understand it’s just another intimidation ploy.

If you of a family member are upset they didn’t get their little wristbands, or autograph, suck it up and take it like an adult. Things don’t always happen as we wish them to.

Oh, and while there weren’t any waiting lines yesterday, the table was pretty well picked over; the only one in the store that way. It was as if the staff didn’t have the time (even with the few customers that were there) to get it replenished and straightened up. And at checkout, the clerk said he was surprised how well the book was selling. I told him I wasn’t surprised at all.

Goodness me. I simply responded to his comment.

I knew it was off subject. Deal with it or complain to the mods.

Who wants to sign 1000 or even 500 of these books day after day. Most authors probably only sign a hundred or two any given day.

Hate to be unduly suspicious, but it wouldn't surprise me on bit if the book stores were purposely over promising and under delivering.

It's got to drive a lot of them crazy to see what a powerful turnout she's getting! Lots of liBbral heads exploding!

I was at Glenn Beck appearance and signing today in Tampa, FL. Wow! What a crowd. I've never seen anything like it in my 30 plus years of covering news events. I took nearly a thousand pictures and plan to post some of them later, when I get back from another shoot I'm headed to right now.

Here's just one crowd shot. The Borders sit's back off the road at 600 feet. They had over 500 people in the store, then lined up, two and three deep, all the way to the road, around a corner and down the road well over two block!

And the true beauty of it was there was only one, ONE, uniformed police officer anywhere in the store, the parking lot or around lines! Shows the difference between conservative crowds and liberal crowds. Not only that, there was absolutely NO litter on the ground or in the store! I was sure proud of our Beck supporters, they made it really hard for Borders to have anything to complain about! I must say, the Borders people I encountered couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. If the were liberals and cringing to see the crowd Glenn drew they certainly hid it well. Hat's off to them for doing a great job of crowd control with nothing more than store employees and a couple of security service extras!

Yeah, these ‘promises’ remind me of those bogus ‘broken speaking promises’.

The nature of these attacks belong in the realm of adolescent type harassment - the nasty gossip of punks and fugly losers.

It looks like this morning's book signing in Washington, Pa., went off okay according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

It seems Harper Collins overbooked Palin with the multiple signings per day.

She's got three in one day set for Florida next week. We'll see how that goes.
