Hussein’s muzzie cult wasn’t a problem for him, apparently.
No, but his dubious advocacy of RINO-ism and RomneyCare should be.
While Romney’s faith would probably be a problem for some even if he was a purely orthodox conservative, that’s not his problem. His problem is that he’s a Democrat.
if a guy named Barack Obama can be elected why not a mormon
How about the “I Hate Romney” cult forum @ FringeRepublic?
His religion shouldn’t have anything to do with it as long as he’s from the Judeo/Christian beliefs, as were our founders. His politics and views for the future of the country is what’s important.
Not nearly as much as his political RINO governing is an obstacle.
Religion matters not.
What matters is he is a pro abortion, pro govt. healthcare, pro big goobermint RINO. He is also a damned liar.
Romney’s tenets of POLITICAL faith are the problem, not his religious faith.
That is complete BS. Romney's problem is not his mormonism, but rather his track record as governor of Taxachussetts.
Only in your Beltway-addled brain, Frum.
I see that CNN calls David Frum a guest writer. Can’t we give him to them permanently?
Are you talking about the folks that object to Romney's support for expanding abortion rights, his support for "Universal Healthcare" as governor, his lack of clarity on gun rights, etc. In other words, does anybody who questions the conservative credentials of a guy who as governor signed onto a massive socialized medicine program qualify for your definition of the "I Hate Romney cult"?
Shoot, I didn’t even notice that the author was Frum. No wonder the article was so non-sensical.
A Mormon would need to appeal to the conservative base. A Mormon like Glen Beck? ...possibly...
A RINO backstabbing multi-faced waffler like Romney? ...his Mormonism is a good excuse NOT to vote for him...
On the other hand all Obama has to do to appeal to his base is promise a car full of gas and free mortgage payments. The Dems and their leftist base is only looking for a handout. Until we can get the American population off the government teet, it will always be this way.
“Should Romney’s faith be an obstacle?”
No way. His liberalism however? You betcha!
Don’t worry. Romney will be the GOP nominee in 2012. After all, it’s his “turn,” just as it was for Dole and McCain.
