Evolutionary Explanations Assume Evolution Explains
CEH ^ | December 4, 2009

Dec 4, 2009 — The facility with which some evolutionary biologists appeal to almost magical powers of evolution to explain anything and everything is revealed in some recent science articles. Whatever needs explaining is due to evolution – evidence or not. These four examples can be considered representative of the genre...

Then itshould be easy for you to please explain why we find no trilobites above the Permian strata, and why we find no dinosaurs above the cretaceous strata, or no mammals in the Cambrian strata?

Except I’ve seen light and gravity work.

You have CREATED a gravity field? Wow! How did you do that? What was the underlying force you harnessed to do so? Why haven't you published? Where is the anti-grav field machine?

I said the THEORY of Gravity, not the phenomenon. We have billions of data points that are the observable phenomenon of TToE. And we have seen evolution happen in front of our very eyes (or do you think virus adaptation is just an interesting "thing" that doesn't tie into anything?)

Unless you have a cat-lizard in your pocket, evolution is more like cryptozoology or perpetual motion machines.

Again, you tell the world you have no idea what a Scientific Theory is. I suggest you hie thee to a University and learn a little about science before making thineself look more uneducated than thou hast done so.

How is this idiocy “in defense of religious freedom”?

We are talking MALL SHOPPING here, man! What more pure form of religion can there be?

I cant follow your last reply. Please spell out acronyms.

You want to know my criticism of creationism ?

You think historical evolution is a scientific fact? You can prove it?

Is this still in news? It is about Mall shopping habits for goodness sake!

May I gently and humbly suggest this be relegated to SBR or chat? I think everyone will have a lot more fun with it there.

My point exactly. But, for our purposes TToE=The Theory of Gravity. TToG=The Theory of Gravity.

You want to know my criticism of creationism ? You think historical evolution is a scientific fact? You can prove it?

1) There is no such thing as a "scientific fact." That is a concept invented by lay people so they can feel good about what they think they know.

2) You see Evolution in action every day. You and your siblings look like your parents, but a little different. Viruses and bacteria create resistance to antibiotics and other treatments. Flies from a common source cannot breed with the "source" species after a short time living in subways.

3) The fossil record is pretty comprehensive. Unless and until there is alternative SCIENTIFIC explanation for the tens of billions of fossils then there is no alternative to TToE.

Your question only shows how little you understand science.

The evolutionary theory does not state that we would ever find a “cat-lizard “ It only explains the fact that a cat and a lizard share a common ancestor at some point in the distant past.

You really should try some independent research instead of regurgitating creationist talking points.

Yes -- in this case science defeated philosophy. Hopefully soon, science will also defeat philosophy in the AGW world.

That is why the AGW "scandal" is great -- it is scientists (and lay people like you) asking the AGW proponents for SCIENTIFIC proof of their lies. And the AGW folk are like the creationists -- they got nothing.

I didn't want to bring it up, but I am pretty sure my ex-wife is exactly that.

I’m not sure. I would think it would be automated but there doesn’t seem to be anywhere near the number of links being posted there as being posted here. It looks that way to me.

Someone smart would be posting links that bring curious folks to the site... that’s how I would do it anyway.

I ain’t buyin’ the “shopping gene” that make women more discerning BS. Have you seen some of the losers that some seemingly reasonable women end up with?

It obviously isn’t, but for some reason, the poster is highly embarassed to post on the Religion forum.

Before you gag on the other foot you should at least have a freshman understanding of Cladistics.

OK, professor, perhaps you could explain how previous cladograms would have an effect on the present-day hopeful monsters predicted by the Macromutation Hypothesis, such as a cat’s fur evolving into scales or a lizard developing mammary glands and cutey-paws?
