Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

That was for whatever churches might have been

That was for then and NOW. We are NOT to be silent - there is much to be thankful and praise God for - while that is done in quiet fellowship - it is, also, done in union w/other believers. Powerful anointing is bestowed on a congregation when in prayer and praise together.

Paul and Silas where in jail TOGETHER singing praises and in prayer!

Acts 16
25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing songs to God as the other prisoners listened.26 Suddenly, there was a strong earthquake that shook the foundation of the jail. Then all the doors of the jail broke open, and all the prisoners were freed from their chains.27 The jailer woke up and saw that the jail doors were open. Thinking that the prisoners had already escaped, he got his sword and was about to kill himself.[d]28 But Paul shouted, "Don't hurt yourself! We are all here."

29 The jailer told someone to bring a light. Then he ran inside and, shaking with fear, fell down before Paul and Silas.30 He brought them outside and said, "Men, what must I do to be saved?"

31 They said to him, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved—you and all the people in your house."32 So Paul and Silas told the message of the Lord to the jailer and all the people in his house.33 At that hour of the night the jailer took Paul and Silas and washed their wounds. Then he and all his people were baptized immediately.34 After this the jailer took Paul and Silas home and gave them food. He and his family were very happy because they now believed in God.

The ORIGINAL. Exactly. G-d would not leave the creatures here that were to someday leave this world to go and create or colonize other worlds, without a guidebook and a primer. Job is it.
Whatever manifestations of our Creator there were stopped when a people was risen up to teach the rest of the world the laws as they were handed down.
And those who were given the Laws have been persecuted for it ever since. No one wanted the morality, the idea that what you do on this world transcends this world and has repercussions beyond what you see here.
CaptRon was right about Orthodox Jews not believing in hell. Hell is a purely Christian construct. The sleep of the righteous is the death that ends when the world is reborn. The death of the evil, the conscienceless, is endless. The Abyss. The Pit. There is no return from that death.

" I am not a religious guy, but I am a broken-glass Republican. For 10 years before I lost my job I was a more-than-a-dollar-a-day Freeper. Where do I stand now? Not welcome? "

Actually ?
I am anti-Religion myself,
that is ?
Religion is mans's way to God,
but, JESUS CHRIST is GOD's way to GOD....

If you have ever studied the bible, the Jewish " RELIGIOUS " leaders came to him and asked him why did he hang out with such lowly, wretched , sinners, and Jesus basically told them,

That he came not for the righteous:

( self righteous ) ... ( righteous... that is ? Jesus said in a sarcastic way, THE SELF RIGHTIOUS ):

I did not come, but came for sinners.
The sick are the one's who need the doctor.
The one's who gave Jesus the most trouble and headaches was the religious leaders.
In the bible, Jesus didn't hang out or fellowship with the religious leaders ( Only Nicodemus ) but with the people and sinners...
You are more than welcome here at FR and more than welcome to hang out with Jesus.

RELIGION: is a man made thing, a man made way .. in that ? that man thinks he can come to GOD, or be right in God's eyes by man's way of thinking and doing.

Jesus Christ : is a relationship with GOD, GOD's only way to GOD.....

That poster is no longer with us.

They come and they go.
and they return in teams.

The better to bait the susceptible.

I suppose anger is a great motivator.

"I guess I dont get when FR stopped being about the Constitution and liberty and the pursuit of limited government and started to become a “christian fundamentalist” website. Not all freepers are Christians . Some are Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Atheists, Greek Orthodox, maybe Quaker, Moromon, Roman Catholic or whatever. And as far as the Darwin thing is concerned. I dont know if man came from monkeys or a garden in Mesopotamia, and quite frankly I dont care. And God knows when it became so pressing to too many folks here that it warrants a post from the top guy, when we have bigger fish to fry, cause Obama dont care who made you, he just wants to control you. We need everyone we can get, and if this is dividing us, then we have real problems.

Well stated, I agree. And I think FR is primarily "... about the Constitution and liberty and the pursuit of limited government."

What FR is doesn't depend on a definition of what "is" is.
It is what it is!

That man, while given the ABILITY to learn, nevertheless needed to be taught the basics beyond instinct. In other words, instead of migrating like a herd, you learn to adapt your surrounding to you, not the other way around.
Job spanned many generations. Job is a metaphor for humanity. It is a history of man’s rise from the primitive state to the reasoning state. Job plainly states that in order to pass judgement, man MUST LEARN and know the Laws of the UNIVERSE. There is a reason for that.

What are the 'basics' you are referring to?

It is a history of man’s rise from the primitive state to the reasoning state.

Did YOUR reasoning tell you that?

Job plainly states that in order to pass judgement, man MUST LEARN and know the Laws of the UNIVERSE.

Back it up w/Scripture.

Jesus was always referred to as “Rabbi”, or “teacher”

Yes, He was. And before He left, He said He is going to send another, The Holy Spirit, who, also, is referred to as the comforter and 'teacher'.

Paul came to Derbe and Lystra, where a follower named Timothy lived. Timothy's mother was Jewish and a believer.
