Mysterious Group Buys Building Next to Ground Zero For Mosque Wednesday, December 16, 2009 Jim Hoft

A mysterous Muslim group with unknown sponsors has purchased a building steps away from Ground Zero. Hudson New York reported:

An identified group with unknown sponsors has purchased building steps away from where the WorldTrade Center once stood — to turn it into potentially one of the largest New York City mosques.

At the moment the building, the old Burlington Coat Factory, already serves as a mini-mosque: an iron grill lifts every Friday afternoon for a little known Imam leading prayers a few yards away from where Osama Bin Laden’s airborne Islamist bombers killed nearly 3000 people back in 2001.

The Imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf, told the New York Times — which put the story on its front page Wednesday — that he has assembled several million dollars to turn it into ‘’an Islamic center near the city’s most hallowed piece of land that would stand as one of ground zero’s more unexpected and striking neighbors.’’

The 61-year-old Imam said he paid $4.85 million for it — in cash, records show. With 50,000 square feet of air rights and enough financing, he plans an ambitious project of $150 million, he said, akin to the Chautauqua Institution, the 92 Street Y or the Jewish Community Center.

undoubtedly they plane on it being a shrine to their martyr’d. Nothing is out of bounds for the sickness that passes for our government today.

May God bless you and your late brother.

No one will build a MOSQUE overlooking that site...NO ONE.

Let me know if you need any help. I'm serious.

Thank you for this pictorial reminder of why we MUST hold the line firm and steady. The price of freedom: constant alertness, constantly willing to fight back.

"My first question is: How does ANYONE buy ANY piece of property in Manhattan for 4.85 million dollars?..."

BINGO!!!Governor Patterson and Mayor Bloomberg should hold hearings on this right out of the box....

So the seller gave the property away, perhaps as some kind of provocation. No hearings are required. The name of the seller should be on the property deed records.

See my post at #92 for a “notion”.

count me in - to the hilt - on whatever is necessary.

Maybe a group of tourists can/will go directly from next year’s Texas Cowboy Memorial Shoot to NYC...

Just sayin’

They might as well plant a big Nazi flag with a happy face right in the middle of ground zero. Couple this with the KSM trial just across town and you’ve got New York City as billboard for jihadi propaganda. If Islam thinks this is good PR they are sadly mistaken.

Money laundering?

I guess it’s considered Muslim holy ground then

The fourth most holy site in all of Islam, just like any other place else the Islamists want to squat on.

Probably part of the plan from the very beginning...Destroy the #1 symbol of American free markets and international trade, and replace it with the first shrine to Muslim hegemony.

Could be. These things are springing up all over the place, which gives the impression of a lot more Muslims than there really are in this country. Oh, wait, didn't Obama say we were a "Muslim country?"

This cannot go forward. The more I think about it, the more enraged I get.

Ok. So that triggered the 10K limit on cash transactions and it will not be secret much longer right?

Something is fishy about the report because it does not tell who the seller was. A cash sale leaves no bank records so we can't know for sure if there really was any transaction.

“Kukiko Mitani, whose husband, Stephen Pomerantz, owned the building at the time, tried to sell it for years, at one time asking $18 million. But when the recession hit, she sold it in July to a real estate investment firm, Soho Properties, for $4.85 million in cash, records show. One of the investors was the Cordoba Initiative, an interfaith group founded by Imam Feisal. “

Actually, I always wondered how they got the courthouse in Houston, particularly since I was attending an Islamic terrorism trial that involved money laundering through the purchase of property.

In the trial, it came out that they used some sort of mortgage lending scam to get extra money to be diverted for terrorism. They are very adept at manipulating our financial systems...and they also have a parallel system of their own. Possibly this was sold to them by another Muslim through “sharia financing.”

Somebody needs to find the name of the owner.
