Romney says Brown can ‘make history’
The Boston Globe ^ | 01-01-10 | The Boston Globe Staff

Mitt Romney - that rare political breed, a Republican elected statewide in Massachusetts - told supporters yesterday that if Scott Brown can pull off a similar feat next month in the US Senate special election, it “would shock the country and send a strong message that business as usual in Washington is coming to an end.’’

“He would bring badly-needed fiscal restraint to an out-of-control budget process that is adding trillions of dollars to our national debt,’’ said Romney, the former Bay State governor who gives every indication he’s preparing a second presidential bid in 2012.

No. Romney INVENTED and IMPOSED RomneyCARE1.

Sen. John Kerry to Don Imus on RomneyCARE=HillaryCARE: "I like this health care bill".

Sen. Hillary Clinton on RomneyCARE=HillaryCARE: "To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."

FLASHFORWARD: TODAY:

PROOF RomneyCARE is a Disaster (and Romney is utterly clueless)

“Health Care Speechwriter for Edwards, Obama & Clinton Now Without Health Insurance”
I'm a critic because what Washington is talking about doing
has made health insurance unaffordable in Massachusetts.

"Paying the Health Tax in Massachusetts [Romneycare]
Massachusetts requires every resident to have health insurance, and this
year, without informing us directly, the state had changed the rules in a way that made
our bare-bones policy no longer acceptable. Unless we ponied up for a pricier policy we
neither need nor want—or enrolled in a government-sponsored insurance plan—we
would have to pay $1,000 each year to the state.
How did we become outlaws? “

The program provides low- or no-cost coverage to about 165,000 residents, or three-fifths of the newly insured, and is budgeted at $880 million for 2010, a 7.3% single-year increase that is likely to be optimistic.
The state's overall costs on health programs have increased by 42% (!) since 2006."

Health care in Massachusetts: a warning for America [Romney brings Mass. to its knees]
The Bay State's mandatory insurance law is raising costs, limiting access, and lowering care.

Three years ago, Massachusetts adopted a plan requiring all residents to purchase health
insurance, with state subsidies for lower-income residents. But rather than creating a
utopia of high-quality affordable healthcare, the result has been the exact opposite –
skyrocketing costs, worsened access, and lower quality care."

"‘Severe’ doc shortage seen hiking wait time

“Health costs to rise again.( RomneyCare )

I went to Scott Brown's website and I though he said he was anti abortion. Did I misread or did you? Which ever he is I am sending him $100 we need his vote against nObama care.

Well, his statement is worded carefully--believes it should be between a woman & her doctor, but opposes partial-birth abortion (anyone this side of Pol Pot should); the woman-doctor thing always has been safe to say for politicians but it is running ouyt of steam from overuse. I would surely rather Brown would come out "opposed, period!" but guess that would be sudden death in the P.R. of Mass (Peoples Republic of Mass).

I hope that Brown wins & drives Croakley into the sea. His vote against Zero-Pelosi-Reid et al will help immensely.

Ansel12 tells Peter: "Your posts are never substantive, or meaningful, or even relevant. Your method of working in behalf of Romney is to merely troll threads making little fluffy digs and insults."

Peter confirms Ansel's charge by responding: "You really shouldn’t post when your panties are all bunched up, you tend to look silly."

Meanwhile, GOP Lady takes her classic stance of demanding that certain people not post to her because she doesn't like what they write to her.

Jim, these Romney supporters are among the best things we've got going for demonstrating to lurkers and others just what the real essence of Romney. As usual, the behavior of Romney supporters speaks volumes about their candidate!

For your information, there are only two people whom I have asked not to post to me. One used the word “bullet” and the other used the word “knife.” And both of these people do not support Mitt Romney. Regardless of whom these people do support, that is where I draw the line. If you can’t appreciate that, then I’m sorry. Perhaps you should rethink the words of your last sentence.

He's not going to be president either, so we can take a more balanced view of the man.

Tell me, TAKE A "LOOK" for WHAT REASON? Balanced look at a RINO? - a fraud? GET LOST!

NO CONSERVATIVE wants or NEEDS to look at MITT for anything ever again!

What he thinks or what a majority of Americans think about health care in general, I don't know, but the fact that things have gotten as far as they have suggests that the majority isn't as solid as you think.

WHAT MAJORITY are you talking about? WHO CARES WHAT MITT THINKS! The town hall meetings and the tea party ralleys showed everyone what the voters think!

Compared to McCain he was only lukewarm.

Comparing one Rino to another? HOW noble of YOU - TRYING TO put MITT IN A GOOD LIGHT.

If Romney's as wobbly himself as people say he is, I wouldn't count on him to stick to the idea in the future.

Who said he was wobbly? He a back stabbing underhanded RINO. Don't count on him to Stick to the idea - you mean like abortion or ROMNEYCARE? Are you implying he's a flip flopper and/or will be whatever anyone wants him to be until he gets in office ala Obama style?

But like I said, he probably won't get very far if he runs again.

YOU DO KNOW WHAT I THINK OF YOUR POST, don't you? It's just as phoney as YOUR BOY MITT!!

I disagree. I was here throughout the ordeal. This order was imposed by the Mass. Supreme Court, and I don’t think any amount of spinning can pin it on Romney. Obviously we are not going to come to agreement.

You're right, I cannot appreciate that. This is Free Republic, and these are words being read to educate and inform, not bullets or knives being absorbed at the expense of life. It gratifies you very much to pretend otherwise because it's so dramatic, and in today's PC climate, worthy of so-o-o much sympathy

But from my POV, your problem with posters on FR boils down to this: If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

As indeed, my last sentence holds true: your behavior of taking self-righteous high-and-mighty offense, is yet another example of the behavior of Romney supporters speaking volumes about their candidate. Romney is bad news for the GOP, and you illustrate perfectly why this is: he caters and appeals to the likes of people like you -- the kinds of people who expect others to adjust to THEIR expectations and getting angry when they tell you where to stick it.

This isn't really news to Jim...there have been several mittbots in the past couple of years that dared take him on and get in his face about it and are no longer here.

I don't know how much clearer Jim has made his opinion regarding Mitt being pimped here..some folks just refuse to believe him.

Scott Brown has never served a day of active duty. (I haven’t either) He is a lawyer in the National Guard. (Not denigrating his service) His own website states that he supports Romney’s state health care plan.

You’ll notice I never said I wasn’t going to vote for Scott.

I was merely pointing out the hippocracy of those who railed against Mitt and are now drooling over Scott.

Notice the prominent video endorsement of that darling of conservatives, Juan McCain.

Obviously, Mitt is also a big supporter.

This isn't really news to Jim...

I know ... poor Jim, but it's my mantra and I post it to him again and again to let him know how much I appreciate that he's resisting the temptation to just ZOT them ... he respects that they serve a higher purpose.

I love so much that FR is taking an aggressive stance on zotting ROMNEY out of GOP presidential possible instead. I really think it's easy to underestimate Romney's potential to deeply damage the GOP and the USA. He's bad news ... I know, I've only said it about five thousand times ... and will probably say it about five thousand times more!

The term FreeRepublic can't be defined as "free for anyone to take ownership of the discussion and run dissenting posters off threads."

Somehow, that seems rather junior high, rather than "responsible"! I found it hilarious.
