Glenn Beck on birther issue : 'Dumbest thing I've ever heard'
WorldNetDaily ^ | JANUARY 3, 2010 | Drew Zahn

Posted on 01/04/2010 7:24:46 PM PST by RobinMasters

On the air today, popular radio host Glenn Beck mocked "birthers" and claimed there is a concerted campaign to get those questioning Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility onto the airwaves – a strategy Beck said would actually benefit Obama.

"There's always games being played behind the scenes at a talk radio show," Beck said. "Rush has always called them seminar callers. But instead of being coy with the seminar callers or with you, I'm just going to expose the game that is going on. Today there is a concerted effort on all radio stations to get birthers on the air."

"I have to tell you, are you working for the Barack Obama administration?" Beck scoffed. "I mean, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

The ongoing dialogue then spun off into ridicule as Beck caricatured those who question the sitting president's eligibility with straw-man arguments reminiscent of jibes made by Obama's apologists in other news outlets.

Beck defined birthers as people who believe Obama was born in Kenya or other foreign country, was raised as a Manchurian candidate and somehow brainwashed Hillary Clinton into not exposing his fraud. According to Beck's running joke, birthers believe someone – maybe Obama's KGB "control" – preemptively placed Obama's birth announcement in 1961 Hawaiian newspapers with a "roadmap" of getting an African man into office.

Hey, Glenn, why aren’t you asking about the other documents Mr. Dunham has never produced?

Finding no evidence what so ever, he had done the smart thing and let it go.

It's not up to us to provide evidence that he's not eligible. It's up to him (or should be) to provide evidence that he is.

Everyone needs to think for themselves. No talk show host is the ultimate authority on anythiing, contrary to what they may claim. They may be right or wrong on certain issues, but they need proof of that to substantiate the claim. Beck, in this instance, has no proof that Obama is indeed a citizen. He accepts what he is told, believes Obama and his people, or takes the stance of the people with whom he is employed or has befriended. Perhaps Beck, like O’Reilly, has “seen” the birth certificate? Again, think for yourself and believe what you see with your own two eyes. If submission of proof is refused, draw your own conclusion, not Becks, O’Reillys, or anyone else’s.

Right, Glen....

However, there is a concerted campaign to get those questioning Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility off the airwaves ...

I think Beck was simply saying that it is a planned distraction and that we should focus on the destructive stuff Obama is doing. Quite frankly, I do get excited when I get an email about the birther deal. Would be great if it’s true, but it’s just another Alinksy tactic - otherwise he would provide the proof.
IMHO, I think Beck has done more to save this country than anyone else.

I agree that it should be required to provide proof that you are eligible to be President, but heck, we don't even check if a person is eligible to vote.

Now that he is in office it is up to "us" prove he should not be there.

If I were zero and thank heavens I’m not and I had the original birth certificate in hand, I’d never show it until court ordered to do so.

I’d wait until the start of the 2012 campaign and then show it and say, “look at this you right wingers”.

There’s absolutely no incentive for him to show it, it’s not like he’s spending his own money to defend himself against these accusations.

He may or may not be a natural born citizen but I won’t hold my breath waiting for him to prove it.

I agree. Continuing on with this with absolutely NO evidence makes the birthers look like truthers.

And we laugh at the residents of the DUmp. No wonder so many think the hard right "just ain't right."

You'd think Keyes might have mentioned that in the eligibility suits he's been party to.

“I’m with Beck. This is going nowhere.”

I’m with you...I cannot see this leading anywhere useful. The courts will simply say that Obama was elected, game over, rather than cause our cities (what’s left of them, that is) to burn down. (but I do hope that I’m wrong)

Same with whether Health Care reform is constitutional. If the courts haven’t stopped Congressional Overreach yet, they NEVER will. We need to fight this in Congress, and then the 2011 Congress...there is no way the courts are going to stop this.

Okay goofball, lets make it real simple:
According to 1961 US law:
His (zero’s) father was not a US citizen.
Zero’s mom was not of age to pass citizenship to her spawn.
It matter’s not where he was hatched, it’s the relevant law at the time of birth that applies!!!
Easy enough?
Lets just see the long form, or the college transcripts, or the passports, etc, etc, etc.

Glenn made a big deal out of the newspaper announcements—as though they proved Obama was born in Hawaii. And he also mocked birthers for supposedly believing that the announcements were placed in the papers in 1961 as part of a “conspiracy” to get Barack into the White House.

It was shameful and stupid.

Also, he kept referring to the announcements as “stories” in the newspaper—as though Sally Society Reporter showed up at the Dunhams’ house and took pictures and wrote a “story” about the new baby.

This was the worst moment on Glenn Beck since he slandered Fr. Charles Coughlin for “having no problem” with Nazi gassing of Jews.
