Obama can’t take our guns, so he’s got his UN and international stooges trying: we can’t let them
The Collins Report ^ | January 23, 2010 | Suzanne Eovaldi

Stealthy but well funded United Nations maneuvers to strip American citizens of their legal right to keep and bear arms are well underway.

The UN agenda is to push countries to adopt a universally binding treaty that would supersede our U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment.

A very important video by NRA investigative reporter Ginny Simone explaining this threat has been removed from youtube, but you can still access it at www.ammonland.com or on the NRA web site. Simone takes viewers to the London headquarters of IANSA-International Action Network for Small Arms- a global network to stop “proliferation and misuse of small arms and light weapons.” She shows us IANSA is plotting to tear down the Second Amendment.

IANSA head Rebecca Peters said, “It’s time (for) tough, tough gun laws,” after she successfully pushed through a binding gun ban treaty in Australia. Simone reports Peters has “an endless supply of dollars” to wage a successful anti gun propaganda campaign here in America.

Seemingly endless amounts of dollars appear available to IANSA from over 800 NGO’s-non governmental organizations- with Japan donating $1.87 million and Britain giving a 2 million dollar grant. “U.S. citizens don’t have the blanket right to use guns as they see fit,” declared Amnesty International’s Henry Smith.

Slow but steady erosion worldwide

In NYC Rick Cowan, a retired hero detective, was stripped of his right to carry after a simple automobile wreck. Even though Cowan infiltrated the mob and got medals for his bravery, he now is on the department’s No Carry list. Law abiding Louisiana citizens saw their guns confiscated after Katrina, and the Philippine government just instituted a nationwide gun ban to stave off violence for an election that won’t happen until May.

Greetings Mr. or Ms. Ambassador, speaking for all other countries outside the United States.

Well thanks (now if i only would get the same payment the new EU ambassador gets for doing exactly my job ;-)
But to be serious i never claimed that i know how most of the world thinks or feels. i only expressed my (european) personal observation of the people (including me) that i know in personal who are living here. And believe me many do think different than the media might would tell you.

A Treaty CAN supercede the Constitution..... HOWEVER..... the Treaty must be ratified. by 2/3 of the Senate. How likely is that?

There is a way to sign treaties by sole Executive Action, however, those are routinely done for non-controversial issues. If such an action -- to override the Second Amendment -- were even *attempted*, there wouldn't be much Obama left.

In any sense of the word.

There is a school of comedy that says America is the smoking hot high school girl. You guys are like the creepy old guy next door. You watch us with a telecope, have our photo all over your walls, etc.

And she doesn’t know you exist. We don’t bother Europe at all. Quit stalking us,,,it’s creepy. We don’t butt into your elections, or try to write your laws.

Good afternoon.

Mr. Soros has the best round the clock security money can buy. He and his detail probably have access to government info since 0bama is in.

If you question CIA, prior special forces, and USSS operatives/officers, they will all tell you it is very difficult to maintain a 500 meter perimeter 24 hrs a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

People can make mistakes...sh#t happens.

The Feds offer that money to offset the cost of doing business at the police department. Vests and cars and continued employment will mean absolutely nothing if a measure is pushed that causes people take up arms.

Enough police officers and their leadership will tell mayors and the ATF that this is not worth the bloodshed.

I think gun interest groups are pretty strong, heck, look at how many states have concealed carry now, as opposed to ten years ago.

I would be the first to tell you that I can’t protect your property, and that you should get a gun, an alarm and a mean ol’ dog.

Sorry but who ever said (i´m shure i didn´t) that you should care what “Europe” has to say or that “we” should write or have a say in your laws?
Sorry but your post sounds “a little bit” hostile.
Jesus christ! Only for you the “standart” european doesn´t give a rats ass about what you are doing in your own country. And this is no offence. This just means that people in generall do not especially care what you do as long as it doesn´t affect em in personal. Don´t buy everything the media tells you. “Europe” is not anti american or pro american in generall. There are just ordinary people here (same as in the US). Some will like you if you met them in personal and of course some will don´t like you. Has nothing to do with generall politics.

they are not subject to it now..

They won’t be immune from the physics of 180 grain X 3000fps.

Who do you guys think will confirm any such treaty? The congress after the Brown-out?

All the “doom and gloomer’s” had your day last Spring. Get real and get POSITIVE. This nor many more armed and patriotic Americans ain’t going down easy.

No. Such a treaty would not "supersede our U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment,"

Thank you.

It "only" took 40 posts to get to the Constitutional answer.

Treaties are "Law of the Land" WITH, not above, provisions of the Constitution; in cases of conflict, the Constitution trumps the treaty provisions.

If it takes 40 posts on a Conservative BBS, where the participants are presumably knowledgeable concerning the Founding Documents, history, politics, and civics, to find the fallacy of the article posted, what does that say about the rest of the population?

“shooting someone to me isnt positive.. it means you lost your argument and will lose in the end..”

Great point there (sc/), of course that sort of weinie-ness and we would have been British subjects until we had to speak German.

You best be thankful that there are patriots that don’t think like yourself.

"I know a lot of Fed officers. NONE, and I mean, NONE, have talked about confiscating weapons from law abiding citizens."

Agreed. The same is true of combat soldiers in our military forces. They have no desire to do anything against our Constitution and will fight to defend it. The astroturfing bloggers and sock puppets who repeat the canard about treaties superseding our Constitution are full of baloney.

354 U.S. 1, Reid v. Covert, II (1957), "...no agreement with a foreign nation can confer power on the Congress, or on any other branch of Government, which is free from the restraints of the Constitution."

“It only took 3% of the population to fight and win the Revolutionary War. What's 3% of the number of firearms owners? Millions.”

Yes millions, but, the gun owners of America need to take a lesson from those in the colonial days.

The term “well regulated” meaning well trained/practiced needs to be followed once again. Firearms owners in America should join clubs and work the members to set up competitions (one of the best is the Civilian Marksmanship Program - CMP).

CMP clinics should be a staple at each and every gun club and ranges should be constructed to accommodate for these events.

Citizens by the hundreds of thousands should be down at the range at least once a month for a competition shoot. Constantly honing their skills and learning something new.

Organization and comradery is necessary in the gun culture. Knowing who you can depend on and planning for the future is essential ... just like the Minute Men of colonial days.

Check out the Apple Seed program going on around the country started by Fred from FredsM14Stocks.com. He has an excellent program to get people into shooting are rekindling the old spirit of American Marksmanship.

And since you seem to ask a lot of innocent questions, here’s an innocent question for you. Why is a group based in the UK, so interested in working on disarming regular Americans?

Why not start with the palestinians first? Or how about some mass murdering governments? How about a complete ban in Africa? Where is the movement for free speech in England? Where is the pressure on the Saudis to allow non-muslims to visit mecca?

Im quite surprised that the biggest threat to world peace is the privately owned gun of an American. A little odd,, huh?

ups i missed this question!
to answer it i really don´t know.
There are morons on lunatics in every country of this world.
But it depends on the numbers how important they are.
But again who ever said (did this “group say this because i never heard of this before?)that privately owned guns in america are a threat to the world?
It´s true that a majority in Europe does not understand the american “gun culture” (don´t be too picky because english is not my mother tounge so i often use simple words to declare myself) but this does not mean that “they” would especially care or have something against about it. Again your country do what ever you want there. for the rest (Africa, Palestinians...) Ok the oppinons may differ between the US and most of Europe but this is totally of topic and has nothing to do with domestic gun laws in the US.

The cite in my last comment, BTW, is probably best paired with an earlier one to clarify with the “yes, but” relationship. It is true that treaties can override laws and constitutions of states, but treaties are subject to our U.S. Constitution and do not supersede it.

254, U.S. 2 Foster & Elam v. Neilson (1829), “...a treaty...to be regarded in courts of justice as equivalent to an act of the legislature...”

354 U.S. 1, Reid v. Covert, II (1957), “...no agreement with a foreign nation can confer power...which is free from the restraints of the Constitution.”

“...they can not move into my home (except for war time conditions)...”

Actually, the military doesn’t need to move into your home. At the time of the Revolution, the British quartered soldiers in private homes - not to avoid building barracks but to listen in on private conversations. It made it more difficult to plan an insurrection when “Johnny Redcoat” was sitting at the dinner table. Nowadays “they” have wiretaps (legal and otherwise,) a zillion or so CCTV cameras situated everywhere you look (and a few places you don’t look, too,) a whole variety of “eye-in-the-sky” devices and even scanners that can see through walls. With the proper equipment your conversations within a closed room can be faithfully recorded and used against you.

Anti-gunners sometimes say that the Second Amendment is outdated. In actual fact it’s the Third Amendment that’s outlived its usefullness.

All readers of this thread, see the cites in my comment #57:

Libertarian/liberal kooks like to quote, "in the Constitution or Laws of any State," as referring to our United States Consitution, which it does not. It refers to constitutions and laws of the various states. Treaties and laws are subject to U.S. constitutional review.

Don't fall for anti-American political efforts premised on lies. Such lies are often devised for the purpose of telling you that you will be violated in some way with a legal loophole and that you must either give up or get yourself in trouble. Calm down, and be more analytical.

From The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48 :
 Hysteria \Hys*te"ri*a\, n. [NL.: cf. F. hyst['e]rie. See
Hysteric.] (Med.)
A nervous affection, occurring almost exclusively in women,
in which the emotional and reflex excitability is
exaggerated, and the will power correspondingly diminished,
so that the patient loses control over the emotions, becomes
the victim of imaginary sensations, and often falls into
paroxism or fits.
[1913 Webster]

Note: The chief symptoms are convulsive, tossing movements of
the limbs and head, uncontrollable crying and laughing,
and a choking sensation as if a ball were lodged in the
throat. The affection presents the most varied
symptoms, often simulating those of the gravest
diseases, but generally curable by mental treatment
alone. Hysteric
