Bill Gates has made his scholarship fund off limits to white teenagers. The Gates Millennium Scholarship fund is financed by a $1 Billion endowment Bill Gates made in 1999. The fund explicitly denies eligibility to white students.
“Students are eligible to be considered for a GMS scholarship if they: Are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian and Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American;"
Or local minorities — poor whites in an almost-black neighborhood?

These scholarships IMHO are a pre-emptive strategy to discourage lawsuits against Microsoft, whose workforce is almost exclusively white and Asian.
I doubt there is any guilt or ideology behind the situation. It's just business.

It’s the reason that Bill Gates wrote the most clever software and cut the shrewdest business deals, yet never foresaw the Windows virus.
IIRC some years ago, the court overturned a will that left money to fund a school for fatherless white boys.
My next one will be a Mac as well. Whites can just stop buying his products, too. He ought to not mind that, given the scholarships are targeted at non-whites.

Steven Girard from way back Philadelphia left a fortune to establish what came to be known as Girard College for poor white males. Was always projected as a model operation with first class results.
Back in the fifties or early sixties a Philadelphia NAACP activist, Cecil B Moore, sued, won and the the will of Steven Girard was broken.

Very true.My grandparents where sharecroppers. My dad was a metal fitter at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft for 35 years (he was a supervisor when he retired).
I would not have been able to go to university today, with the criminal prices that are being charged. When I went to the University Of California, the only fee was $50.00 for student union, and cost of books (about $100.00/semester). Housing on campus, including meals, was around $900.00/semester.
I worked part-time. and had a student loan total of $564.00 when i graduated.

Maybe he thinks white men don’t need higher education for success...he certainly didn’t.
It’s a good think the Democrats forced him to do this with anti-trust laws. Without all of these race-based donations we might not know that the Democrat party is racist and anti-capitalist.

You and I both know that before Obama's inauguration he could have excluded members of the same race as the POTUS - and that now that's the one thing he cannot do.I once received literature from a state college, which volunteered the information that I could get a break on tuition if I were a black, an Indian (everyone born here is a native, after all), or a woman. IOW, anything but what I am. But of course they didn't want to say that out loud - they just wanted it to be known.
