Admiral Mike Mullen stated it simply, “I’d like to see it shut down.” Mullen believes Guantanamo has significantly damaged the reputation of the United States, even going so far as to say (in other articles) that it has been a powerful recruiting tool for Islamic terrorists. Rand couldn’t agree more. Rand believes America can fight terrorism and maintain its moral integrity without resorting to offshore prison camps, “prolonged detention”, and other, highly questionable legal measures. For Rand, national security and the rule of law go hand in hand. More and more high-ranking military officials are confirming his position.

I haven’t kept up with Steve Forbes since I supported him in 2000, but I trust Governor Palin, and if she thinks that Rand Paul is better than the ex-Democrat, that voted for Bill Clinton in 1992 and is considered pretty moderate, then I will accept her study of the situation.
If Palin supports Rand’s stand of ‘let the jihadist go’ then I am back looking for a candidiate.
This is a battle to the death between us and them. Even Jefferson relized that over 200 years ago, so why is it so hard for so many to come to grip with it today. I know what it is even Jefferson isn’t constitutionalist for Paulist!
I think that Palin looked closely at both candidates and made an informed decision on which one would best serve as a Senator from Kentucky.
