Do you really believe a movie? come on surely you have more sense than that.
How do I invest in NaCl futures?
Yes, I pretty good, the movie serves to illustrate how little ( or none) credence is given to the consequence of the health effects they cause.
You would be logging some serious time on on the toliet if you ate that.
Time itself is lethal. Do we put a government label on that? Better yet walking in front of a moving bus is bad for your health. Let's put a label on the front of the bus to let us know that.
There is no label you can use to keep stupid people from harming themselves. Maybe it's God's way of thining the herd.
A simple solution to the food problem. Buy fresh food and cook it yourself. No need for government labels.
There’s a notion of a reasonable person. If we have roads and highways and dangerous moving objects, then we design the structures so that people can reasonably be safe yet free.
My philosophy is that government is free to educate me and make me aware but not to restrict me or enslave me unless it impinges on the freedom of others.
Transfat education is Ok. My choice to eat them or not does not impinge on the health and freedom of others, so they should not be banned.
Same with salt. Educate me, tell me the opinions, let me decide for myself. But my ingestion of salt has no bearing on the health and safety of others.
So government can educate and label. Labels are cheap. If a tank contains explosive or flammable material, yeah I want to know that and I believe there should be a law that requires such things be marked or labeled.
I don’t have a problem with labeling, I have a problem with overreaching.
Salt content, amount and type with warnings is fair game for labels, but not for banning.
As for your examples, they are silly. Time is not an object but we have watches and timepieces to remind us that it is valuable. Walking in front of a bus, we have crosswalk signals. Those objects are in effect labels. Whatever point your examples were trying to make seems to have gotten lost. Are you saying we should not have crosswalk signals?

It’s like ethanol for your body.
Let me sit down.
I love how they say they tried volunteerism but it didn’t work so now their gonna force us.
Umm... It was never voluntary if when we say “no” they force us to anyway.
OK, foodwise one.
What about soy?
What’s in it that makes me projectile vomit if I forget to read a lable or ask in a resturant?
Soy was supposed to be the meatless food of the future.
Hey, haven't you heard? “Cleanliness is next to Godliness :)
Just remember, victims believe.
Just remember, victims believe.
This is exactly what has happened in Britain with their government system. Read the book, The Tyranny of Health. It was written by a British doctor, and he shows how doctors have been turned into agents of the state in charge of snooping into people’s lives and ensuring they comply with what the health Nazis say is the right way to live. Scary stuff.
Under gov’t health care, not only will you be denied treatment or have to wait for it, but you will also be required to be a certain weight, to have all your numbers in the “normal” range, and to submit to whatever treatments they say will get you there. How ironic that only the healthy will be deemed worthy of health care.
What did anyone expect would happen when a Marxist got into the white house?
I still don’t get the surprise I see here.
The way they operate is to put huge hidden taxes on us, then give us visible tax credits to behave. Then claim we got huge tax cuts. You see it over and over again. Here democrats raised huge energy taxes, then gave a credit for connecting our thermostat to company/state control.
As far as rationing goes, middle class white men taxed the most will be put on the back of the line. The illegal kid who came over yesterday, will be in the front.
“As far as rationing goes, middle class white men taxed the most will be put on the back of the line.”
...and the elderly. Their lives are no longer worth the cost, so they should just take a pain pill and go away.
