"If they truly cared about the healthcare burden , HFCS would be in the crosshairs."

I don't what that is but I will try to avoid it.

In fact I have an appointment w/Dr. to check my blood sodium content. I have had 2 occasions where my blood sodium drops to deadly level. This has been shown to be caused by my taking cortisone shots. Even though a Dr. has denied the possibility of this happening, it has on two occasions.

Anyway, I had blood tests Monday and she wants to see me tomorrow. I expect the number to be either just on the min or slightly under.

The Constitution has been castrated, culture is meaningless, heritage is ignored and the last corner of life is invaded.

That's what happens when you make a President out of something other than a "natural-born citizen."

I am pretty sure that salt is one of the items required in canning and producing foods that have a long term shelf life.

Reducing such item can lead to a very short shelf life of canned goods, etc.
Is this a direct attack on Mormons and others who stock up a long term supply of food?
How about those of us who live rural and keep a goodly supply on hand, even tho we are not MOrmon>

There is real trouble coming in this country, and not being able to take care of yourself with a personal supply of food is another nail in our Freedom coffin.

In ten years, all food will taste like cardboard...or at least like the stuff they serve in old folks’ homes.

“Time to march on Washington in a ‘salt’ party rally to protest salt taxes”., “First our salt, then our guns... They will have to pry the salt shaker from my cold dead hands”.....

Will MSNBC call us ‘salt shakers’ instead of Tea baggers?

High Fructose Corn Sweetener = artifical product so hard to avoid now because of government subsidies it is so cheap that they put it in everything.

Which, on paper looks good to a clean finger-nailed executive(government or otherwise), but the wiser person knows it suppresses the function of the hormone Leptin (which tells you to stop eating "I'm Full".

Which, maybe wouldn't so bad if you didn't mind looking like New Jersey in pants!

But, it increases the function of the hormone Grelin( the "Gurrrrr, I'm hungry" hormone)

At Taxpayer expense, we are being made sick & fat, and they know it, always have.

Iodine regulates the human immune system. In America, very little of our food contains iodine. We get it through salt. “

I am pretty sure that Iodine is added to salt. Lite salt does not have iodine. White salt blocks for large animals also does not have salt. Horses cannot process iodine.

Exactly. I am feeding my children the opposite way my mother fed me. We eat real food including natural fats. While their body types vary, my children are all very muscular with little fat. I was a skinny kid, but as I got older and started trying to eat “healthy” foods (low-fat and artificial sweetener) I struggled with my weight, even as a college athlete. I am now 5 months pregnant with our 5th child and weigh 137 pounds. This is less than I weighed at 21 years old while working out until at times I literally passed out.

As with most subjects, the media and other “experts” are completely wrong on what they've been saying is good for us. And now the government is using this misinformation to limit access to what keeps us healthy.

Of course obama will continue to enjoy his favorite candy.

"President Obama’s sweet tooth boosts export of salt from Wales"

Salt from Wales used to make President Obama’s favourite caramel has helped to boost British food export figures for the fifth consecutive year.

The President’s passion for Smoked Salt Caramels, produced by the artisan confectioner Fran’s Chocolates of Seattle, is one of the successful trade stories which led to total food and drink exports last year being valued at £9.65 billion.

The increased sales were just 4.4 per cent, but in a difficult year because of the economic downturn and when other manufacturing sectors suffered an overseas sales slump of 11.8 per cent, the performance has lifted morale among entrepreneurs in the food industry....

The sweet has been a favourite for four years after one of his original campaign team, who hails from seattle, gave him a box as a present. These caramels are now handed out to visitors to the White House.

Look at some old news clips from the 1950’s+ or so (the clips from the Kennedy assignation have big crowds). You’ll be hard pressed to find a fat person. They ate comfort food - real, natural foods like meat, cheese, salt, sugar, milk, and butter. They also fed this food to their children.”

People walked from their parking space or the bus to their jobs. Those kids didn’t sit in front of a computer or a X-Box each and every free minute of the day. They actually played outside—got exercise—etc.
There were NOT very many people on Welfare, living off the taxpayers and sitting on their collective asses doing nothing.

Show me a kid who lives today on a ranch or a farm and has to do their share of the chores, and you will find health youngsters. We have raised a whole generation of chair sitters, who have TV remotes.

“I have nothing against the government mandating packaging requirements to call out the amount of salt versus what is recommended. I would also support a public awareness campaign to reveal the documented harmful effects of too much salt or effects of different types of salts.”
I can see why you call yourself Hostage.

Get your kids outside and make them get some exercise!!!

This is beyond being a Sheeple !!!

I was there in D.C. after the assignation, my father took me, yes, I'm old enough to remember very few fat folks lumbering around.

Coke tasted great because it was mostly natural cane sugar grass juice (not artificial chemical modifying hormones as mentioned above).

That is a great point because right about that time HFCS became a larger and larger part of our food supply.
