Very, very serious warning. (received in email this AM)

>>While you were watching the oil spill, and other critical crises, Hillary Clinton signed the small arms treaty with the UN.

OBAMA FINDS LEGAL WAY AROUND THE 2ND AMENDMENT AND USES IT. IF THIS PASSES, THERE COULD BE WAR

On Wednesday Obama Took the First Major Step in a Plan to Ban All Firearms in the United States

The Obama administration intends to force gun control and a complete ban on all weapons for US citizens through the signing of international treaties with foreign nations.

Once the US Government signs these international treaties, all US citizens will be subject to those gun laws created by foreign governments.

The laws are designed and intended to lead to the complete ban and confiscation of all firearms.

Obama can appear before the public and tell them that he does not intend to pursue any legislation that will lead to new gun control laws, while his Secretary of State, cloaked in secrecy is committing the US to international treaties and foreign gun control laws.

We will wake up one morning and find that the United States has signed a treaty that prohibits firearm and ammunition manufacturers from selling to the public.

We will wake up another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that prohibits any transfer of firearm ownership. And then, we will wake up yet another morning and find that the US has signed a treaty that requires US citizens to deliver any firearm they own to the local government collection and destruction center or face imprisonment.

THIS IS NOT A JOKE OR A FALSE WARNING.

As sure as government health care will be forced on us by the Obama administration through whatever means necessary, so will gun control.

Better that they die on THEIR feet than you live on YOUR knees. With apoligies to our (honorary) countryman, Winston Churchill.

I think you mean Emiliano Zapata. He, not Winnie, said "Prefiero morir de pie que vivir de rodillas.".

Churchill did express similar sentiments though:

Still if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not so costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no chance of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.

Point # 1 - No treaty is valid unless approved by the Senate.

Point # 2 - The Constitution grants American citizens certain rights under the Bill of Rights. SCOTUS has recognized these rights as individual rights the Federal Government can’t violate and only “reasonable” restrictions are permitted.

ERGO, it would seem to me that surrendering Constitutionally guaranteed rights of American citizens to a foreign power is treason.

Its ESSENTIAL to contact all those Senators and let them know that their careers are finished if they vote to approve this idiotic agreement.

Given Obama’s current political woes and their own vulnerability, my guess is the Dem’s timing on this one may be off.

We SHOULD be able to kill it in the Senate.

If not, I see a lot of court battles with these bastards.

Surrendering the Constitutional Rights of American citizens to a foreign power is TREASON. Any Administration which colludes with a foreign power to abridge Americans Constitutional Rights should justifiably be removed from office.

Point # 2 - The Constitution grants American citizens certain rights under the Bill of Rights.

No, it protects pre-existing rights from governmental infringment. Not infringement by other citizens. But it most especially doesn't "grant" rights.

Surrendering the Constitutional Rights of American citizens to a foreign power is TREASON.

Maybe it should be, but it's not. Not under the Constitution anyway.

Article III Section. 3. Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

O.K.

That’s true.

It GUARANTEES those rights as basic human rights given by God to all Human Beings.

All the more reason these rights are unalienable.

“or in adhering to their Enemies, “

ANY foreign power which seeks to abridge the God-given, Constitutionally guaranteed powers of the American public is an enemy to the Republic.

Any Administration which adheres to them, giving them aid and comfort by assisting them to abridge those rights is guilty of TREASON.

You have to read it CAREFULLY.

I know gunowners would keep their guns, regardless.

I replied to a post that assumed all Dem Senators would vote for such a treaty, then they would need 8 RINOS to = 67 (2/3) to ratify.

Merely pointed out that nowhere near all Dem Senators would dare vote for such an abomination.

The Senate would never ratify such a treaty. It would be like Kyoto, which the anti-national Clinton signed, but the Senate did not ratify. In fact Clinton, realizing he would lose the vote—a 99-1 sense of the Senate resolution asked him not to forward it, did not even try for ratification.
Clinton put the treaty in a dusty corner of his desk.
Bush 43 found it there and moved it to the waste basket. Liberals to this day claim Bush killed Kyoto. Unfortunately, he can't take the credit for saving the US economy from the disaster Kyoto would have provoked. The treaty was dead before he got to the Oval Office.

Yes, treaties must be ratified... except when a majority on the US Supreme Court uses an un-ratified treaty (Link) as the basis of a ruling.

total BS.

The Senate of the US must approved any treaty by a 2/3 majority.

They won't approve any such treaty.

However, it IS true that constitutionally a treaty trumps all other laws.

Really. So many places to hide them. What are they going to do, tear our houses apart to find them? Are they counting on voluntary compliance? Good luck with that.
