Playing devil’s advocate for a minute, he is left-handed and wears his watch on his left wrist. I’m a lefty and I do that, too. For me, since I use my left for pretty much everything, it doesn’t get caught as easily on things or get in the way when I wear it higher.
That said, if he had an R after his name, the left would have ripped him apart for being a nerd.
You need to face facts. Sitting there like William F. Buckley having deep conversations about policy differences like a Rockefeller Repub, is ineffective for many voters we must reach.
It’s like standing there like a boxer from 1920, with his Queensbury rules, ready for fisticuffs,, facing a modern MMA cage champion or steroids. It’s no contest.
While we win debate points, they made Obama cool with the “Obama Girl” video,, etc etc,,, It’s a legit enemy stronghold to reduce.
So as we cooly win policy debates,,, they win elections with this uneducated guy, mostly because they made Bush a laughingstock, and because he could dance with ellen degenerate. The young that voted for Obama largely did it because he was like the people they party with.
And another clue for you,, while many people do vote based upon stodgy, respectful, wonky tactics, many respond to “who is cooler”, who doesn’t know how a cash register works,, who knows the price of eggs,, many women even vote for the one they would most like to screw. Crazy??? Yes. Real?? Also yes. We must appeal to them all.

Alot of those you mention will never “respect” conservatives. After living with and working with life-long Lib Dems, I’ve found alot of them would just like us dead if there was a legal way to do it. I agree with the posters who say much is expected of the President—he and his family represent us to the world. Nothing wrong with pointing out their shortfalls since the media refuses to to their job.
