Republicans are growing increasingly frustrated with Sharron Angle and her lackluster campaign to unseat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), fearing she is jeopardizing what they had long viewed as a sure pickup and costing them a chance to reclaim the majority.
Senate Republicans quietly acknowledge that Angle's controversial views on some issues remain a political liability. But the former Nevada Assemblywoman's larger problems are a progression of unforced errors stemming from a lack of campaign experience and an amateurish staff incapable of offering her the necessary guidance. However, Angle has proved to be adept at fundraising, corralling $2.6 million in the second quarter.
Republicans are reluctant to openly criticize Angle, not wanting to cause their nominee more problems. The most recent polling shows Reid ahead in his bid for a fifth term for the first time this campaign cycle. But privately, they concede Angle could lose if she doesn't learn campaign discipline and overhaul her core team to include advisers with experience running a top-tier, statewide race.
Last week, the Republican National Committee dispatched an operative to Nevada to assist Angle, something the National Republican Senatorial Committee has been trying to do for weeks via telephone from Washington, D.C. NRSC Chairman John Cornyn (Texas) indicated that it has been a slow, sometimes difficult task, although he insisted he remains confident in Angle's ability to beat Reid.
"We've had conference calls, including me personally, with her and the campaign, and we continue to work with them. But it's a work in progress," Cornyn said Thursday. "While running for election is not rocket science, it does require knowledgeable people, it does require some discipline, and that's always a struggle for every first-time candidate."
"It's dysfunctional," a Nevada Republican added, when asked to give an assessment of the Angle campaign.

If Nevada voters re-elect Reid, then they pretty much get what they deserve.
Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. — H. L. Mencken
Hence, why I'm beginning to believe that maybe we need to stop listening to the naysayers who tell us that we should fight to purge the GOP of the RINOs and instead just build another party where conservatives are welcome, where people actually honor the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence and who believe that preserving our social institutions is just as important as preserving our economic stability. Hoping that the Republicans will wake up is an exercise in futility.
I mean, I see what folks are talking about when discussing third parties. We usually don't hear of third parties until the election and usually they tend to take votes from the GOP, enabling the RAT to win. At the same time, how much longer are we going to keep hoping that the GOP will wake up? I'm not encouraged by what I'm seeing.
Has anyone ever seen this much hype this far out in support of a sitting senator? There’s a lifetime until the Fall, people’s opinions haven’t been cemented yet, and he’s thrown a lot of money at it.
What’s the source of the story? AP/Yahoo? I wonder who they are rooting for.
One pole indicates that Harry Reid is the second most hated politician in America. A head of iceberg lettuce should be able to beat this traitorous jackass. This pole is just his machine setting the stage so he can steel the election thus avoid suspicion of fraud. This dude is owned by the mafia so it is safe to say his opponent has received a personal offer to lose.

Nevada Senate: Angle 48%, Reid 41%
It won’t be Nevadans re-electing dingy harry, it’ll be the slimey LV unions and all the lefty kalifonicators that now reside in LV.
Tarkanian kid would have buried Reid. Shes a gaffe a minute.
You are correct that we are like the battered wife going back to our abusive GOP husband for more beatings. I'm kind of hoping for a way to completely relegate the GOP to the ash heap of history so we can make a clean break. I know that the chances of it happening are small, but it has been done before (ironically, of course, that's the story of the origins of the Republicans). It would probably take quite a bit more social upheaval before that can happen. That would be a catalyst to finally wake up all the zombies who just march into the polling place and vote party line every election, no matter what. Unfortunately, I suspect we will be getting some nasty upheavals soon, so I guess my theory will be put to the test.
A paper bag with a face should be able to beat that SOB. A resolution was passed not to vacation in LV as long as they have Reid as their senator.
This needs to be posted in its own thread.
“...and instead just build another party...”

That is exactly what your foes want you to do.
Gird your loins and prepare; for the battle is at hand!
Guess - if all else fails - Gov Palin needs to fly down for a visit before the election!!
Think about.
R picks McLaim. D. Picks Obama.
One Lost. 50% of the time one party picks a loser.
With Angle I think it was us. She does not come across as having it screwed on tight.
Well this thread was a complete waste of time, LOL.
One thing to keep in mind. The press has no interest in promoting Angle’s candidacy, and they have no interest in promoting GOP unity.
And there is a fair portion of the GOP that hates Palin and these same characters probably don’t think much of Angle. Probably we are talking about some of the very same people.
I would expect the press to talk down the candidacy of any GOP candidate, and any conservative candidate. And when you consider how important Reid is to the Left, you can expect them to really ramp up the press attacks as we get closer to the end. We’re all going to think she’s the worst loser in the universe when the press gets done with her, come election season.
It wouldn’t matter if we were running Mother Teresa, when the Reid machine and the press monkeys got through with her we wouldn’t recognize her.
Will she? We'll see.
If voters go for reid, regardless of who is against him, they deserve what they get.
