Phyllis Schlafly: No Women, Sarah Palin Included, Ready for White House
Politics Daily ^ | Ann Groer

Posted on 07/26/2010 6:37:01 PM PDT by pissant

At 85, Phyllis Schlafly has still got game.

The anti-feminist founder of the conservative Eagle Forum -- who counts Barry Goldwater's 1964 White House run and the 1982 death of the Equal Rights Amendment as exquisite victories and the "internationalist" presidencies of George Bush 41 and 43 as "not helpful to the Republican party" -- hasn't mellowed one whit.

That she made abundantly clear Thursday afternoon at the Conservative Political Action Committee conference in Washington.

Lord knows she still looks great, the poufy blonde hair perfectly lacquered, the fitted tweed jacket tricked out with her signature golden eagle brooch and tiny anti-abortion baby feet, her neck encircled by three stands of pearls and a chain from which dangled a cross of gold.

I think it was politically and financially shrewd. But other folks think it was weak. It’s just not my reason for opposition to Palin.

6’5” 220 lbs ExMarine....come see me and I will show you “little”.

Phyllis is completely and totally WRONG and she needs to hear that.

Status? bunk!!!

I think she has run out of Geritol.

America is about to die a gruesome Marist death and FReepers insist on pushing it over the edge.

My GAWD.

Who else besides PALIN is electable.....and when was the last time FReepers got behind someone that WON????

not smart at all-—in this -—she has not kept up with the conservative movement AND specifically women in conservative politics.

Women are setting the agenda these days. Reason? Many men have become light in the shoes literally and figuratively.

Schlafly served her purpose—she no longer understands. I still love her essay “Macho Victims” though

RE :”I knew some Palinstinian pig cultist would show up ;-)

This is interesting. This netroot LV straw poll selected Palin as GOP nominee. netroots is the single payer Canadian pushing progressive/liberal internet PAC that pushed Obama ahead of Hillary. How many of them you think are posing as conservatives accusing freepers and Schlafly of being 1 %ers and other names?

...I know it’s a shock for some.....but women are NOT qualified for every job.

Amen to that, Aunt B. I also concur completely on your "Women watch too much Oprah" comment. Well, :) some women, anyway...

Thanks!

You do know the poster of this thread believes you shouldn't have the right to vote....

'shark! 'Sup?

Yes, I am aware of that. Actually, I would support a repeal of the 19th amendment if it were coupled with a repeal of the 16th Amendment.

Repeal and Restore! To heck with Replace!

Someone with stature finally said it. Thank God.

Now perhaps we can look at some people who won’t sell their soul for McCain.

6’5” 220 lbs ExMarine....come see me and I will show you “little”.

You wouldn't want to come see me jarhead. I would eat your lunch, take your milk money, and have you shining my shoes and thanking me for the privilege after I finished demonstrating just how “little” you are.

[And there is NO such thing as an "ExMarine", once a Marine, always a Marine.]

As for Saint Sarah? She ain't the solution sweetheart, she's part of the problem. She supports conservatives one day, RINOs the next, and if Ronald Reagan was a deep ocean of conservative depth and wisdom (and he was), Sarah is but a shallow puddle with a bunch of mindless mutts lapping up every wink and "you betcha".

You want someone electable? Get to work like I am, encouraging a fellow Marine to run for the GOP nomination in '12, here's your hint:

Palin has more balls than any republican male..
Except when she's, er, quitting her elected position because she can't handle the media attacks.
Resigning in that position was the right thing to do. She was being Alinskyed, big time, and was no longer effective because of the manipulation of the ethics rules which, be it noted, I believe she had a hand in establishing.
In reading Rogue I was particularly interested in her take on that, and she knows it was an Alinsky attack which caused her problem.

But the fact is that had she stayed on in Anchorage she would, because of those attacks, have been absolutely unable to maintain and grow her national presence as she has done. The resignation was the correct move. And if she gets elected POTUS and resigns from there, leaving a strong VP to take the reins, that would not be as bad a result as nominating some RINO and being surprised that Obama beats him up like he did to McCain.

I can't spare the woman. She fights.

Another Duncan Hunter or Ron Paul, eh.....?

How did that work out for ya? (Us)

We conservatives are doomed just like last time and the time before......(We are a herd of cats - stuck in constant bickering and debate)

Well I’m flying clear across the Country on August 28th to Honor Veterans everywhere.

I’ll be in Washington DC on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to see Glenn Beck and yes, Sarah.

It’s a function/gathering called “RESTORING HONOR”.

I’m giving strong consideration to just signing off of FReepers permanently....So many here just don’t get it.

We have an enemy worse than we (America) have/has ever faced in all our History in the White House and people just don’’t or can’t face that truth.

Another Duncan Hunter or Ron Paul, eh.....?

Don't even mention that lunatic Ron Paul in the same breath as Duncan Hunter, a REAL conservative, a combat veteran, and a true Reagan Republican.

How did that work out for ya? (Us)

Ron Paul thankfully got nowhere, as for Duncan Hunter? The RINO-RNC establishment deemed him persona non grata after he correctly identified the 'Kennedy wing of the Republican Party' and the RNC with their toadies at Faux News minimized Hunter from that point on.

We conservatives are doomed just like last time and the time before......(We are a herd of cats - stuck in constant bickering and debate)

"doomed"?!? That's a helluva attitude for a Marine to take, we're not doomed until the last ballot is cast, or the last bullet is fired.

Well I’m flying clear across the Country on August 28th to Honor Veterans everywhere.

You might see me there. I'll look for my favorite 6'5 jarhead roamin' around. Who knows, we might get to have an animated conversation, you and me. ;)

I’ll be in Washington DC on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to see Glenn Beck and yes, Sarah. It’s a function/gathering called “RESTORING HONOR”.

I got some news for you pal, it won't be Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin that restores our Honor, it will be We The People, as good as Glenn and Sarah might be, they are cheerleaders, good cheerleaders to be sure, but restoring American Honor has to begin with the grassroots, and that's you and me.

I’m giving strong consideration to just signing off of FReepers permanently....So many here just don’t get it. We have an enemy worse than we (America) have/has ever faced in all our History in the White House and people just don’t or can’t face that truth.

What people are unable to face is the fact that it is no longer 'business as usual', the entrenched imperial statists in both the 'Rat and RINO parties are focused on one thing and one thing only, and that is preserving their own personal political power, and to Hell with us pissants. The illegal 0bamunist regime is cutting and slashing away at the Constitution and what is left of our civil rights on an hourly basis. They intend to push, and push until they achieve some sort of push back that will justify their own version of the Tiananeman Square massacre. You can go or stay as you wish, just like any FReeper, but the fact is, America is heading for a second civil war, and it is going to turn ugly, most likely faster than anyone suspects. Believe that.

I suppose conservatives should never have chosen President Washington. He was too close to Hamilton and John Adams, both of whom were tyrants. In fact, the Constitution itself is tainted — we should not have signed it because Hamiliton and Adams were tyrants. That is the logic of Palin bashers.

OK, you have established your predilection to judge based on appearances and the superficial, were you ever able to dispute or refute what Phyllis Schlafly had to SAY?

Here is what Ronald Reagan had to say about Phyllis Schlafly and Eagle Forum back in '84:

"Eagle Forum has set a high standard of volunteer participation in the political and legislative process. . . . You've been out front on so many of the most important issues of our time. . . . Your work is an example to all those who would struggle for an America that is prosperous and free. . . . Our nation needs the kind of dedicated individual volunteer service you and Eagle Forum have demonstrated over the last 20 years."

Feel free to take issue with the Gipper himself.
