In the wake of Glenn Beck's hugely successful Restoring Honor rally held in Washington, D.C. this weekend, the Huffington Post has published an offer of $100,000 to anyone with evidence that would destroy Beck's reputation and take him off the political/cultural battlefield.
An essay written by Beau Friedlander, the last editor-in-chief of Air America before it shut down this year, was posted in the Politics section of the Huffington Post today with the title, $100,000 For Glenn Beck's Sex Tape.
Friedlander says he will not use his own money for the hit, but that he will "broker" the deal.
It is time to pop the tea baggers' favorite balloon (so what if it will be replaced by another?), and with that in mind I hereby offer to negotiate a $100,000 payday to the person who will come forward with a sex tape or phone records or anything else that succeeds in removing Glenn Beck from the public eye forever. I am not offering the cash myself, but I will broker the deal and/or raise the money for what you bring to the table. (And it better be good.)

Friedlander couches his offer in the context of Andrew Breitbart's offer of $100,000 for the Journolist listserve messages, but this is more in line with pornographer Larry Flynt's blackmail campaign against Congressmen during Bill Clinton's impeachment, which followed a threat from Clinton conveyed by George Stephanopoulos to expose their sex lives.
Likewise, the Huffington Post has ties to the Obama White House, raising the question of whether the White House is behind this targeting of Beck.

Time to boycott HuffPo’s advertisers, and make sure they know it, and why.
I just don’t want to give them the page hits while I go out there and list who their advertisers are.
Beck just said the author is a pal of Van Jones. Who woulda guessed that?
Satan was REAL mad Saturday.
He had his followers say that there were only 86,000 people at Beck’s rally.
He commanded this Huffington Post author to offer money he doesn’t have to smear a patriot.
You can tell when Satan is angry, his follower get angrier and they start making less sense.
When communists/socialists get angry 100 million people die.

She's a self-absorbed opportunist. She's not stupid, just lacking principles of any kind beyond succeeding at what she wants: money and fame and a bit of power.
We'll probably see her convert back to her version of "conservatism" if and when the political winds change for the long term IMO.

I suspect that someone will find stories of the old Glenn Beck. He has said that he had a crazy past. The producers of these stories will not bother to add that they are old.

I really don’t think that we will have cohesiveness, this is not an difference in ideology anymore, it is flat out hatred that runs too deep.
This is middle school mentality, pure and simple. I think it will change though. While these little snots think they know it all, they are eventually going to have to go up against a generation of battle hardened citizens who have actually seen what the world outside holds.

I am offering to broker the deal. There are several ways to raise the funds ranging from an individual paying the whole thing (probably rather easy to arrange), a news agency buying it, or micro-funding through progressive blogs like Daily Kos, FireDogLake, Crooks and Liars. I am merely a catalyst here. (Make a disingenuous comment, get a concrete answer--so unlike the right wingers, eh?)
