This really ticks me off. I posted a full list of D endorsements here. http://redmeatconservative.blogspot.com/2010/10/nra-is-helping-preserve-anti-gun.html

I can’t believe they endorsed Kratovil over Andy Harris in Md.

How much of that $15-20 million will be spent for Democrats?

Conservatives would be insane to donate a dime.

Is there a serious alternative to the NRA?

The NRA is a single issue organization, not a support group for the Rs. They tend to support the incumbents. They are non-partisan and fully support them doing this. It makes sense.

Now, I’m in a hotly contested Representative race, and the NRA’s endorsement of the incumbent meant nothing to me.

The NRA can’t save her...

Michael Moore has said more libs need to become NRA members so they can take over the organization and thwart it’s efforts.

Consider it a sign that we’re winning the Second Amendment debate. Republicans need to find another differentiating issue to campaign on, because they can no longer count on this one.

I emailed the NRA on Wednesday, informing them I was canceling my membership due to their ludicrous practice of supporting leftists. I’ve received no response. Now ain’t THAT strange.

“Democrats Tout NRA’s Blessing”

What was to be expected? Seems to me the NRA, although a single issue organization, NOT a conservative political organization, but as a second amendment organization has taken the wrong tack here.

We are in times today that endorsing the enemy of our freedoms is not appropriate, nor is it wise. Especially as it is known the Democrats will lie, and say whatever they deem necessary to get by at the moment, but when it is time for the vote, they WILL vote Party line no matter what they said before. The NRA knows this, and albeit they have successfully worked some areas of concern with Democrats as has been pointed out to me by concerned NRA members here at FRee Republic, they went way overboard in assigning endorsements to Scorpions.

It will come back to bite them, thus bite us whom trusted them so damned much to get the job done that we sent them money, and filled out their surveys, and participated in projects in good faith.

My over twenty year membership is on hold. I’m sending no money to the NRA until I understand what the Hell it is they are up to with supporting a bunch that advocate the takeover of my country with foreign ideology.

The NRA is a pro-gun organization. If the Democrat is an incumbent with a consistent pro-gun voting record, vs. a Republican with no record, they will endorse him.

I won’t vote for a Democrat, even if he’s pro-gun, but I don’t object to a single-issue organization’s working on that basis.

I’ve been a member for over 20 years now and when I called them they first said “we aren’t supporting Harry Reid”. I’ve heard otherwise on FR but I’ll give them a pass until I find out the facts.

I then brought up that they are supporting a lot of Dems who aren’t really gun supporters, like Chet Culver in Iowa. They said they were endorsing him. I asked how they could do that and that he, along with their help, passed a watered down permit law that could have been better. They gave me a bunch of BS about the NRA being a one issue group and that is how they do things.

I’m really debating if I will keep my membership and renew in Feb, or if I will drop them and let the chips fall where they may. Their answers were not satisfying at all and in many cases they were outright BS.

These “pro-gun” Democrats sound good and vote right so long as their vote is not needed to actually pass a bill. When a bill that would take a knife to the 2nd amendment needs a couple of their votes to get passed that couple of congressmen will be assigned to vote for it and will. Their pro-gun rhetoric has no legislative effect whatever. The NRA is taking a poke at gun rights under the cover of being ecumenical in its support of allegedly pro-gun Democrats.

This is all bull$hit. If Harry Reid were truly “pro-gun” he would vote against the single largest threat to gun owners in this country. Namely, the Supreme Court nominees that President Obama has sent to the Senate. Both are rabid anti-gun leftists. If Obama can get just one more appointment to the Court, the 2nd amendment will be history. Then all of the “pro-gun” Democrats can say boo-hoo there's nothing they can do about a judgment from the SCOTUS.

I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that NRA membership has grown since Obama was elected - gun sales are way up. Maybe the folks at NRA think they benefit from the election of Democrats. Or, maybe they just want to have their hooks into both parties.
