So many false starts. I’d like to believe something will happen, but it’s difficult. I have to admit I gave up following the details of all this stuff a while ago.

Apuzzo’s case was the sleeper and the best constructed case. It has slowly cone through the court system. It will still have to go through Scotus then back to appeals then back to Scotus as far as a I know.

Probably just wishful thinking on my part, but it’s crossed my mind that he might stay overseas. He knows he’s going to lose all his political capital on the 2nd, his beloved MSM is already starting to turn on him, the eligibility question is getting closer to coming unglued, the judges in both the Virginia & Florida Obamacare cases are telegraphing that they think there are constitutional issues with the law, there are rumors Nancy Pelosi is going to turn on him, and the “Washington Insider” that keeps showing up on the Internet mentioned a scandal that is about to blow up in the Whitehouse.
If such an agreement exists, we should shred it, if it keeps the Kenyan away for good!!
This is a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari. The Petitioner has to be granted certiorari for the case either to proceed to a hearing before the SCOTUS or to go back to the Appeals court on remand. If certiorari is not granted, it’s not going anywhere.

Getting docketed means nothing. Every petition filed is docketed. Obama is under no obligation to respond and even if he doesn’t, there is an almost zero chance it will be accepted for review.
The upside is that if the GOP wins big, the USSC members would feel less restrained in making a decision to grant cert.
It is also possible the court will punt and send it back down to either the Circuit Court or trial court for further proceedings.
If the petition IS granted, it could be set for a hearing at the SCOTUS without remand back to the lower court. It doesn’t necessarily get remanded.
Certiorari is granted in only about 8% of the cases brought to SCOTUS, so odds don’t favor any given petition, tho these issues here are well ripe for a decision.
I think Mrs. Thomas did something recently with a Tea Party group, as well as demanding an apology of Anita Hill. But I haven’t heard - and can’t imagine - that she’d made a comment about an issue that would be brought before the Court.
