MELBOURNE, Australia – U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Congress should act quickly, before new members take their seats, to repeal the military's ban on gays serving openly in the military.
He, however, did not sound optimistic that the current Congress would use a brief postelection session to get rid of the law known as "don't ask, don't tell."
"I would like to see the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell" but I'm not sure what the prospects for that are," Gates said Saturday, as he traveled to defense and diplomatic meetings in Australia.
Unless the lame-duck Congress acts, the repeal effort is considered dead for now.

Gates was the perfect bureaucrat. Always there, working late. Never suggesting anything new, but keeping the boys in line. He was such a sycophant, always there first to open the door for a superior. His first real promotion came as head of Europe — where he had no experience. I think his true colors finally emerge — now, a few months short of retirement. From my own experience in intel, he was always such a mincing primadonna, I thought he was a homosexual. I am probably mistaken, but how the hell getting rid of DADT will maintain good order in the military is beyond me. And, quite honestly, I have personally witnessed how a homosexual cabal can really screw up a military base. Indeed, it can happen.

Another thread about Gates' desire to destroy the military and promote mental illness and perversion as normal and in reality dominating everyone else. Interesting info about Gates on the thread. Men like him who know nothing of actual military life should not have such positions or responsibility.. The military is one of the few (and the main) actual responsibilities of the fedgov. They should do it right! Which means no homosexuals or mentally ill at all, hidden or in plain sight.
The will of the American people is for Sodomites to be forced back into the closet; without activist judges, sodomy would still be illegal in Texas and other states. Of course, activist judges and a Kangaroo Congress refuse to listen to the will of the American people.
Such dangerous lifestyles were clearly warned against in the Bible, and death was suggested as the appropriate remedy. I see no reason to ignore the Bible’s word on this. I do see that allowing Sodomites “civil rights” would be the equivalent of allowing the man with the candy van to schmooze about playgrounds, putting children and other innocents at the risk of sexual maniacs.
