As of 3:06 p.m. Alaska time:
Miller has netted 914 votes over "Write-ins" after 8,000+ of the roughyl 30,000 absentee/military votes have been counted.
The count now has Joe Miller trailing "Write-ins" in the overall count by 12,525 votes.
Remaining ballots are from both places Miller is expected to do well AND places Murkowski is expected to do well.
The write ins have not yet been challenged.
If the dent in the lead is large enough then maybe there will be enough write-ins thrown out to make a difference.
The result of this race is NOT good for Palin. It’s her home state, and she backed Miller to the max.
If she can’t persuade her home state.....
It does mean that over 10% of the write-ins are going to him. I wonder how many are going to neither of them.
-—”The result of this race is NOT good for Palin. Its her home state, and she backed Miller to the max.”-—
That is the single stupidest thing I have heard today.
I’ve been wondering whether thousands, who heard and answered the plea of the radio guy up there, didn’t go out and write in Smith, or Jones.....or whomever.
Wrong - a ton of the write in votes came from the welfare native American villages where the “voters” did what the mayor said. Seems the welfare crowd was looking after their rice bowl.
AK gop establishment didn’t like Palin when she was AK GOV. She got most of her agenda thru with the help of the AK DEM and some AK GOP. When she was picked for 2008 GOP VP, AK DEM turned on her, AK media (who used to love Palin) turned on her as well. After 2008 election, Palin have no allies left in AK
Really? Is Miller losing GOOD for Palin? Miller wouldn't have even been on the radar screen if it wasn't for Palin. He was HER candidate. The election was a fight by proxy between her and the 'establishment' GOP/Dems, and she didn't win it.
Consider the source. The troll was not in Alaska and did not follow the filthy race and the dirty deeds thrown at Je Miller.
He got 914 votes out of 30K did I read that right? That does not seem very good to me am I missing something
She did persuade her state to replace a liberal incumbent Senator with an unknown conservative candidate in the GOP primary, that equals victory.
The establishment machine that you seem to be backing, endorsed the primary loser when she mounted a write in campaign, they let her keep her committee and power, which let her pull votes from all elements of the vote that was not specifically conservative, Democrats, and very moderate Republicans.
It is your right though to hope for her victory.
Her home state’s in the bag for old-man Murkowski and the rest of that thugocracy. Sarah cleaned up the state and the high and mighty she toppled have been trying to get even with her ever since.
Every write-in ballot should be counted to the letter of Alaksan law, but will they follow Alaskan law to the letter?
I have serious doubts about it. Blue Mosse has enlightened me.
She did persuade her home state to vote Miller in the primary over Murk who was favored to win in a landslide. Sarah’s positive influence has already been established even if Miller ultimately loses. Sarah took Miller from certain doom to a contender. Yes its better for Palin if Miller wins, but not a big loss if he doesn’t given what she has already accomplished.
You got that right, now you know what this war is about, the Palin/conservative portion of the GOP versus the Romney/liberal portion of the GOP.
My rough map shows Miller needs 15K of the remaining 22K votes to win. Not looking good at all.
oops I mean math not maps. :)
