No bargaining, no deals, no compromise — that's the hard-line stance that Republicans have staked in the days since seizing control of the House.
Their prescription for the sluggish economy — lower taxes, huge spending cuts, less regulation, and repeal of the sweeping healthcare law just taking effect — excites the party's conservative base. But a long and ugly fight with President Obama and Senate Democrats, starting with next week's lame-duck session, could end up alienating the large number of Americans more interested in jobs than ideological battles.
The midterm vote was "an expression of anger and impatience," said James Thurber, an American University congressional expert. It was not, he said, a sudden burst of affection for the GOP.
In fact, exit polls showed Republicans and Democrats were almost equally disliked, with 53% of voters viewing Republicans unfavorably and 52% unhappy with Democrats.
That contempt for the two major parties, along with anxiety over the economy, fear for the future and a sense that most politicians aren't really listening, could explain why so many voters have so little patience with Washington these days.

Republicans should take the door to the room where the 0-care bill was cut in private (Democrat) meetings off its hinges and hang it on the wall behind the speaker's podium in the House chamber. It wouldn't even need a plaque.
Just in case someone is tempted to claim the Ds were "reaching across the aisle" to work with Republicans.

That’s the danger of the split government. If Republican’s had Congress/Senate/President, they could pass legislation and let the results refute the MSM spin. But now they have to be careful about the spin potential since the bills won’t get signed anyway.
This is a wonderful idea. This is not the time for the Republicans to ‘reach across the aisle’ and compromise with a group that ignored what their constituents wanted and shoved legislation down our throats. The Republicans should use this opportunity to diminish the democrat party. One of the biggest sticks Republicans have to do that with is the issue of transparency. Democrats are very vulnerable on the issues of arrogance and non-transparency.
If any of this so-called-MSM bilge bothers you, take a ride on the wild side. Go to dimocrat underground and similar sites and see just how angry they are at just about everyone and everything...especially nobama. Bwaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

OK, so the conclusion is that:
1. lower taxes, huge spending cuts, less regulation, and repeal of the sweeping healthcare law...leads to jobs.
2. Why would Obama and Senate Democrats fight that?
Because they prefer government oversight of our lives to jobs.
Simple majority...do what the people they ostensibly represent want them to do. It's that simple.
If they don't....then they'll be fired in 2012.
As an aside...this last mid-term was probably the best argument in quite some time against establishing "term limits". It's called "voting".
The Tea Party did NOT send the GOP to Washington DC to negotiate the terms of our surrender to socialism, but to stop its sinister advance.
“seizing control” is how they describe electoral victories of Republicans.
“swept into power” is how they would describe the electoral victories of Democrats.
I even recall hearing the phrase “the Bush regime”, but of course it is always the “0bama administration”.

On WTOP (local news radio) uber-liberal Hillary Howard proudly read the results of a new poll saying that only 48% of Americans approve (or some wording like that) of the recent Republican victory as opposed to 60% who approved of the 2006 Democratic victory. I’m not sure why we bother with elections any more. FUHH.

This should be used as a motive to make sure that the GOP doesn’t “blow it”, for the next two years and beyond.
