I can't be the first to say,
"When baths are outlawed, only outlaws will have baths."I really should do something else now.

I hope they dont start snorting bacon and eggs. I would hate for the gov to make breakfast illegal.
Same with smelly shoes. I'd hate to have to go barefoot in the winter.

Yep, it is selfish. And like I also said it is all generality. There are ALWAYS exceptions when you speak in generality. But at what point do we put the onus back on the individual to accept responsibility for all of their actions that they do to themselves? If you have an answer then tell me.
And since you brought up the bath salts at the Gas station with the 14 year olds. Who made them do it? Did they just decide that it would be cool to do? Or were they pressured into it? It becomes in my mind a case of personal decision or someone else causing the damage to the 14 year old by convincing them to ‘try it’.
And before you go to far. I have lost my oldest son to the consequences of using drugs. It was his own choice to use them. And on his death bed as I held before he died he cried and told me that he wished he could do it over again and listen to me and my advice to him.
I hate and utterly despise drug misuse. And with that being said I hate even more the way that the ‘war on drugs’ has been used to control the populace. So are we going to control everything and only let the people have the use of it when ‘authority’ says we can.
What if tomorrow it comes out that by modifying a game controller you can give yourself a “high’ or ‘orgasms’. Are we going to outlaw video game controllers or even the use of electricity. At what point does it stop?
What if it is found out that a program was created that displays a set of patterns on your PC that would give you a instantly addictive high. Are we going to outlaw PC’s?
At what point does it stop?

" hallucinogenic fake bath salts," I was in an ER room last month and read some literature for ER doctors in the lounge.
Seems there are rouge chemists that scour latest medical research papers for various drug results.
Most times the molecular formmua/diagram is given in the article.
The rouge chemists then reproduce the drug with a few tweaks to "improve" performance.
Once on the street it's initially unknown and difficult to detect....except for the dangerous side effects.

He had screwed up his system so bad he didn't sweat like other people and had a hard time controlling his body temp.
I doubt seriously that he's still alive. I knew him in the mid 70’s. He looked like he was 50-60 then but he was only in the early to mid 20’s.

As far as bath salt goes they can have it when they pry it from my warm, wet, silky soft hands... LOL!
Ok, that's pretty funny.

The foundation of the drug war is the same as Obamacare. That the state owns your body, it will take care of it, protect it, and pay for it by taxing others.

'Endemic' doesn't begin to describe/define the problem. It's my opinion that a libertarian mindset of "legalize everything, it will eventually level out - because we don't need any oversight" is just wrong on multiple levels. I agree that there is a "big brother" effect at work with our gov't and I'll be right there championing individual rights with anyone else. HOWEVER, when so many parts of our society are born genetically devoid of responsibility who do we turn to to endorse and enforce those responsibilities for the good of the other parts of society that SHOULD NOT be brought down because of the irresponsible? Should it be the federal gov't? Should it be the state gov't? Whom are we left with a the end of the day to protect the irresponsible from US and THEMSELVES?

It's my opinion that a libertarian mindset of "legalize everything, it will eventually level out - because we don't need any oversight" is just wrong on multiple levels. At root, that mindset makes bad behavior the basis on which society is built, and dismisses any attempts for good people to define the conditions of where they live.
It's the logical endpoint of a selfish and infantile philosophy that in effect promotes rights without responsibility.

“I mean, someone had to be the first, who in the hell would snort this krappola?”
They are not doing this blindly. The distributors put mephedrone or MVPD or piperazine in the packages, then inform people of what’s really in them though “social media” sites and sites specifically about dope like bluelight.nu ( a “harm reduction” site), usually with dose instructions and what to expect for effects.
This is not a blind leap of faith. There are probably youtube vids on how much to take.

'rogue chemist' or entrepreneur?
the 'tweaks' are to make it a different chemical (with similar biological effects) to skate around statutory definitions rather than to improve performance. This sort of thing is on the increase. you cant outlaw chemistry.

I hope they dont start snorting bacon and eggs. Actually, they tried something like that in NJ about 15 years ago. No sunny-side-up eggs and other restrictions. Surprisingly they had to relent. (Seems to me a lot more people smoke cigarettes than eat runny eggs, but maybe I don't know.)
