What a great way to keep the prices of corn, meat, gas, and products in general down!
(Does this really need a sarc tag?)

Not the first of which is that a lot of people will be too dumb to realize their cars are not equipped to handle the extra ethanol crap in their gas.
With the Republicans in control here in cheesehead nation, I don’t think we will be seeing 15% crap at any of our gas stations. As much as Obama wants to whore out to ADM, the people ain’t gonna put up with craptacular 15% gas.

Awesome! Who needs gas? We can run our cars on cronyism!

How about requiring the gas stations to list their alcohol percentages so I know where to shop and where to avoid. Ethanol contains about 30% less energy than gasoline, so 10% ethanol should drop mileage by about 3% and 15% ethanol should drop it by 4.5%.

I have a 2003...and I’m pretty sure it says the limit is 10%.

It makes you wonder whether the EPA is purposely trying to destroy all of the older vehicles so that more of these electric buggies will be sold.
I wouldn’t put it past them and it has nothing to do with protecting the environment.
When are the republicans going to defund that agency?

From Wikipedia:
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA or sometimes USEPA) is an agency of the federal government of the United States charged with protecting human health and the environment,
by writing and enforcing regulations based on laws passed by Congress. Did congress pass a LAW mandating the amount of corn we have in our gas? I may have missed it.

Well, it doesn’t matter to me, because my car is a flex-fuel vehicle, and can run with ethanol blends up to 85%! There’s just hardly any E85 pumps around here in rural Missouri, though. Nearest ones are in Springfield.

Had two Hondas, my SIL has one. The catalytic 2nd stage O2 sensors kept alarming. Ethanol can damage wide band O2 sensors. My solution was to not use any gas that had ethanol....problem solved. Corn is for eating, not burning (unless you forget the popcorn in the MW). Screw ethanol.

A local station manager told us they get a .07 cent rebate per gallon for ethanol gas sold. You can’t find any non ethanol gas locally unless you leave town. Our mileage in an 08 has dropped 25%. The Grand Rapids area is different with only a few stations advertising ethanol. Snowmobilers and ATV vehicles users are resorting to expensive additives to save their engines.

Not only did GWB start us on this ethanol disaster in his energy bill compromise but that bill also outlawed normal light bulbs.
So now you are forced to buy engine fuel full of water that destroys your auto engine, but you must (in the future) buy the toxic florescent light bulbs that will poison your home and family if broken.
Obama certainly got a running start with GWB and Senate republicans progressive policies. I guess this my Bush rant for the week:)

Aside from trashing the environment and wasting huge quantities of diesel fuel and petrochemical-based fertilizer to grow corn, what will this do to our vehicles? Boehner better get after the EPA fascists real fast on this one, otherwise he is part of the problem.

This is probably the point -
it might keep “gas” prices at a “stable” level by increasing ethanol from 10% to 20%,
but you’ll be buying far fewer BTUs.
