It’s painful to think that in 22 years, we have gone from this man and nation of “greatness” to an empty...

Reagan said,

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction

God, I miss Ronald Reagan. He was my commander in chief for 8 of my 20 years of active duty. I had to endure stinking Jimmy Carter for 4, Papa Bush for 4, Nixon/Ford for 4. Thank God for Ronald Reagan. He made we military proud to be military again. The military we have today is directly because of Ronald Reagan. After Nam, with Carter, the military was nothing. We got spit on in airports, called baby killers, cursed. Today, our women and men get Hooah’s in airports. Thank you Gipper for what you did for the Red, White and Blue! I know you are with God today! I will see you again some day!!!

Someone here on FR taped all or most of the Reagan funeral doings in California and DC.....and sold them for postage costs only....I have it....but, I’m afraid to look at them again....need to keep myself together....I wanted them to show my grand-great grand children in the future what a REAL President’s funeral (and life) is like.

Watch those tapes. Let them remind you what a president should be. Let them summon your courage and strengthen your resolve,so that you are ready for the battle to take back the presidency from the Marxists in 2012. All America-loving patriots are going to be needed for the coming fight. Those tapes are just going to remind you for what you and everyone else will be fighting: Reagan’s vision of America.

I show this to my Civics students every year when we cover Reagan. Most of them were born in the mid-90’s. You can tell they aren’t used to this kind of wisdom and leadership. But you can also tell they wish we had it today.

Exactly!

I was just a kid during the 80’s and my parents weren’t fond of Reagan but he made me feel safe. He seemed like a caring grand-father to me who was looking out to protect me and the country. That’s what I tell my kids today was that President Reagan, to me, was like a sweet but tough grand-father who made sure we were safe and looked after.

I miss him so much. I watched videos of him on youtube the other night as my oldest daughter chose him as her President of choice for a school project on Presidents. I admit I teared up a bit watching the Reagan tributes. That man was 1 in a million.

You are sorely missed, Mr. President. Your message and the way you deliver that message still, to this day, inspires.

Thank you for your service to America. May you rest in peace in the presence of God Almighty.

I listened to his “Time for Choosing” speech he gave to support Goldwater’s candidacy in 1964.

I was struck by the familiar themes: government spending, threats from abroad, governmental interference in Americans’ lives, socialized medicine, etc. Reagan was that rare leader who said what he meant and meant what he said. He was the epitome of the happy warrior who, to his core, believed in America and loved it with all his heart.

And I don’t think America has the fortitude to elect one like him ever again.

God, I miss Ronald Reagan. He was my commander in chief for 8 of my 20 years of active duty.

I was blessed to be in the AF, eight years of which were when Reagan was at the helm. I'm sure you remember as I do the crushed sense of morale we in uniform felt during the miserable, dark Carter years... a condition lifted briskly away with the election and inauguration of President Reagan. Remember that "adults are in charge" feeling upon seeing Reagan recite the Oath of Office? What a great time!

Oh, yeah. I well remember what it felt like. Held down with Carter nothing % pay raises. Reagan gave us two large pay raises to get us above the water line a bit. Then when he put the Soviets on notice, man what a feeling to have a real leader in charge for a change. During the Iran thing I was as mad at the heads in DC as I have ever been. We just sat on our butts and looked totally helpless. Like we were pleading with them to not hurt us. Stinking Carter. One of the things that I struggle with in my Christian faith is to love my enemies. I pray about that all the time, asking God to forgive for my failures to do that enough. It is hard to love someone like Carter and his DIMOcrats when they are wanting to destroy you and your way of life. Like agreeing to commit suicide or something. I just struggle with that every minute of the day. God tells me I have to love them, but man it is hard. Soooooo hard to do.
