CBS Complicit in News Coverup (Lara Logan)
The Boston Herald ^ | Thursday, February 17, 2011 | Michael Graham

Posted on 02/17/2011 7:29:30 AM PST by kristinn

Dateline — Egypt:

“[60 Minutes] correspondent Lara Logan was repeatedly sexually assaulted by thugs yelling, ‘Jew! Jew!’ as she covered the chaotic fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo’s main square Friday.”

Powerful reporting on an important story. Two problems: It didn’t run until yesterday, and CBS didn’t run it. The quote is from the New York Post. And it was The Wall Street Journal that reported “the separation and assault lasted roughly 20 to 30 minutes.”

But CBS? They sat on their own story. For five days, as reporters reveled amid giddy celebrations in Tahrir Square, and as President Obama praised President Obama’s handling of the Egyptian crisis, CBS reported nothing.

Only when other media had the story did CBS break the news that its own chief foreign correspondent was the victim of “a brutal and sustained sexual assault.”

Five days of silence — not even “60 Minutes” coverage of the Egypt story. No mention of the “mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy” who attacked their own reporter.

How is that not news?

SNIP

Having 200 “good guys” gang assault a female reporter while screaming “Jew! Jew!” doesn’t fit the narrative. Is that why CBS sat on the story?

Or is it the cultural issue? A rape in a bar is a sex crime. But a pack of political protesters who rape a “Jew” in public is a story about culture.

Thanks for having the courage to say the things others in the media are too cowardly to voice.

200 men. 20-30 minutes. Bill Clinton taught us that you get one free grope before it is harassment and the feminists agreed. So 200 men, 1800 seconds works out to 9 seconds per grope.

It was not a sexual assault. It was just a quick grope for all of them and that's it. The participants can also use the 'nuts and sluts' defense (and they are on pretty firm ground). According to the feminists logic, there is no story here.

And just how did they discern that she is Jewish?

The animals just wanted an excuse for a good time.

Was she raped or groped or both? Is CBS saying?

Now, now. Let's not be so hard on SeeBS. Maybe they're getting their information from The Director of National Intelligence.

No, wait. That can't be right because the DNI is getting its information from The Media.

Hmmmm....

Yep. I’m still quietly waiting until the day we all actually get to take concrete action against these disgusting, barbaric cultures.

I think we’ll need to sort some stuff out in the “homeland” first, but after that is taken care of we should be able to move back to rational civilization and the protection and spreading of such (like during the entire 1800’s!).

Anyone with knowledge of history is clear to see why there is so much strife in the world today.... there are too many micro populations, that at any other point in history.

I asked that on two different threads yesterday, and no one seemed to know (or answered, anyway). My husband said he read something online that said she was not raped, but I don’t have any source/link.

It was big news when other male reporters were assaulted and held hostage. Did they withhold the news based on privacy concerns or concerns that it didn’t fit the current story line?
I’m sure that other news organizations know or knew about this immediately. Where was there reporting?
Next we’ll have news the Utube censored pictures of the assault.

I have a feeling she was just groped, kissed, boogered with snot and leered at, and I say this because she IS the MSM, “If it bleeds, it leads”.

If otherwise I apologize and I hope all her attackers meet their premature demise.

I didn’t know the savages yelled ‘Jew! Jew!’

That explains it.

In liberal land a Jew is dirt while the savages who hate Jews are golden.

That excuses the assaults and rapes. After all, we can’t hold savages to the same standard as normal people, now, can we?

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

I know this is a story, but has anyone considered for a moment, that the lady didn't WANT it reported?

I think we should give a little benefit of the doubt here until we hear otherwise (or maybe I just missed it). I know if it were ME, I would not want it all over the news I had just been gang raped and beaten. No, that would be just another assault to me.

Thats just my thoughts on the matter. Maybe CBS didn't report it because Lara asked them not to, or they were doing so out of deference to the horrific scene she just endured, and they did not want to make a news story out of something so hideous, and doing it to one of their own colleagues...

...President Obama praised President Obama’s handling of the Egyptian crisis...

The "won" didn't want ANYTHING to upstage what he considered a victory. He doesn't value a human life as we do. Once again, I'm beyond disgusted.

HIPAA. They needed medical attention.

Bingo.

I am ashamed of our culture; No right minded man or nation of men should ever be so cowardly and uncaring enough to allow a woman in that situation in the first place.

Men’s primary duty is to protect women. This is an EPIC failure.

I am completely embaressed. It goes against complete common sense.... and even if the reporter herself insisted in going in the “women can do everything men can” vein. They should have said, we’ll not on our dime and not for us, go at your own risk.

We are disgusting for letting this happen (South Africa too?-— Where are the protests all over Cape Town?-— Why is the entire white world not calling for death to Arabs? That would be happening if the situation occured to a Muslim woman in Las Vegas lets say.
