Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), a military lawyer, is the first member of Congress to say the legislature needs to explore the possibility, however unlikely, of limiting some kinds of free speech - like Terry Jones' Quran burning - that help America's enemies.
"I wish we could find a way to hold people accountable. Free speech is a great idea, but we're in a war," he told CBS's Bob Schieffer on "Face the Nation."
"During World War II, we had limits on what you could do if it inspired the enemy," Graham said, adding that he wanted to do "anything we can to push back here in America against acts like this that put our troops at risk."

I bet Lindsey would have condemned us during world war II for calling the japanese “japs” and the german “Krauts” and for burning Mein Kampf!
The idiot doesn’t seem to realize that that is precisely why we’re in that war to protect the right of free speech including burning a book that is anathema to that right.
If he’s going to be offended he should be offended by the way those primitive savages are reacting.
Yes, Graham. And you're the enemy. Why the h*ll are you not in an internment camp?
“So, what else should we refraun from doing, so as not to offend them?”
Breathing.
You are absolutely right. People were allowed to say whatever they wanted as long as they didn’t reveal military movements, etc.
People what to make this country over into communist Russia. We need to fight this idea with everything we have.
“Speak truth to power”.
I hate showing up to threads late. Everybody here has already expressed my views.
Isn’t this the same guy who said that “old rich people” shouldn’t be collecting social security”...or some variant thereof?
Miss Lindsey Graham—choose your lipstick color wisely, then put on your pantyhose one leg at a time.
The little girl is not fit to hold any office in the land.
The problem here is not the burning, it's those who would suppress it.
If one cannot protest a BELIEF SYSTEM the the First Amendment means nothing.
Next comes the thought police and churches will no longer be allowed to express their beliefs. Personal opinions contrary to the law to be will be subject to police action. Get ready for a battle royale with he forces of evil
NO SIR. Free speech is not a great idea it is a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT.
We have so many idiots in political office that it is scary
Don't worry, we are.
Uber RINO Lindsey Ping
"Republican by day, Democrat by night."
Want on or off this ping list?
Just FReepmail me.
Let’s burn Graham in effigy as he holds a copy of the Koran.
Other than wasting time and money, I don’t see any problem burning a Koran the book of a murderous Satanic cult and false god. It would be better to peach the gospel of Jesus Christ and pray the Holy Spirit opens their blinded eyes and hate-filled hearts.
Allowing homosexuals in the military will provoke the enemy, does Goober want to do anything about that?
How about another government restriction? Time to impose a waiting period, background check, and registration for gerbils purchased by Sen. Lindsey Graham and his fellow pillow-biters.
The “Limits” to free speech during WWII had to do with not giving out military secrets, etc. THe “limits” ole Lindsey G is talking about is something quite different. Somehow, all the leftist rhetoric against our troops during the Iraq war, the Wikileaks leak that has YET to be called what it is...treason by Bradley Manning...cannot be prosecuted, but a private citizen employing the same “protected speech” of a flag burner is to be restricted?
Maybe he’s looking for a truck load of burnt ones so he can have something to whine out, that little minded liberal.
