The problem with this type of thinking is that despite a lot of blustery talk, who would know who to shoot? There are no clear boundaries, no enemy territory. You certainly can’t separate them as blue state/red state, as often the difference between them is just a few percentage points.

Probably the closest "territorial" divisions would be rural/suburban vs. urban although I do see your point where the physical boundaries are blurred to say the least. If I may though, I'm one of the John Titor enthusiasts (or nuts) where I follow that story of a supposed time traveller from 2036 where he did mention that there are a civil war where you had the rural vs. the urban side where I take it the rurals are the more conservative/libertarian and the urbans are the liberals. Later on, Titor claims the Russians and Red Chinese nuked many of our big cities our of fear and the rurals were kind of grateful to them for doing so.

It is a big mess, I know where you are coming from, but it seems like we have two basic views in this country that are 180 degrees out of phase and there is no true way to reconcile because of that. I know there are subdivisions but generally, most can fall on one side or the other. Maybe a third way is not a Civil War with a bang but the country falls apart as a result of economic collapse, in a whimper if you will and it would take us to rebuild it along with some on the other side who will hopefully wise up.

The failed War on Drugs has led many police departments to adopt a more military approach to attempting to stop the drug trade, organization, and crime associated with it. This had led to more Swat raids that are not stopping the drug trade, and when mistakes are made, sometimes innocent people are paying the price. This is frightening and angering the US citizens and are turning them against the police. This needs to end. NOW. Swat raids should be a rarity, and only for violent individuals that cannot be taken into custody in other less intrusive and tumultous manner.

Folks, I would rather explain to a thousand grieving family members that their loved one died of a self induced overdose, than try to justify one botched raid where a man died defending his home. Or another police funeral for an officer who died trying to fight this unwinnable war on drugs. Or a innocent kid or grandmother shot in a driveby done by gangmembers who are financed by the war on drugs.

I do agree there. Personally, I think the war on drugs failed and although I am not for legalization, at least for the hard stuff, I don't think on should have their lives messed up for having a little weed. We need to find another way to fight this, we need to find a way to stop our (as a country) demand for them.

The militarization of law enforcement concerns me too. Heck, one of our local township cops was parked next to me at work. I was eating lunch in my car and I looked over and I saw, a CAR-15 or M4 Carbine in his car. Myself, I'd roll back the role of SWAT back to it's original 1970's roots, to be the last resort when none other will do and that would be tightly controlled.

And when do you stop? When do you put a new government in place? How pure is pure? Do you end up with a Stalinist leader who keeps the death squads going?

Please undersand, I am not being provocative. I have a hard time seeing how we can succeed without it ending up being worse.

I still think we have time within the system. At least until 2012.

Yeah, I think we need to address all points here. There is a side to me that says, "bring it on, let's rumble and get it over with" like the rival gangs in the 1979 movie, "The Wanderers."

Still there are a lot of complicated matters. I think for something like our side to succeed is to either have a collapse and hopefully our side is faster and better at picking up the pieces and rebuild than theirs. The other way is a group of States to secede and hopefully send a message that way. Personally, we need to use the system to put in people to defund the left, maybe that's the best way.

I think there is one side we need to consider too is if there is some sort of CWII, what will the Rest of the World do? I’m sure there would be people in the governments of Canada, Japan, UK, France, Israel, Red China, Italy, Russia, India and so on who will be worried about who has control of our military and more importantly, our nukes. Would they send in teams to take out our nukes or push the button on us? I don’t know. Also, you have rogue nations like Iran and so on, they might want to take advantage of the chaos if the others are not strong enough to hold them on their own.

IMO, the Courts will need a serious scrubbing with industrial level cleaners before we can attempt to rebuild. This is something that I don’t have the foggiest idea idea of how to approach. Without a fair and balanced legal system we can never obtain the freedoms and securities we dream for.

Interesting You have given this some serious thought fortunately for all of us yours is only a rough outline of a very real possibility. but as the old saying goes “There is more than one way to skin a cat besides sticking its head in a boot jack & yanking on the tail”.

I know what you mean. The Courts are part of the problem too. Sometimes I wonder if we would be better off with a "draft" where regular people like you and me are randomly selected to do "judge duty" for a day or two each week for a year or two. Then again, with our education system as what it is, it might not make a difference in today's world.

One thing I am afraid of is that this is a huge roll of the dice where the lines are blurred, with the possible exception of rural/suburban vs. urban. I can see all points here, even the naysayers and yes, their views are valid too. The sad thing is that I do see some sort of thing erupting, it is like a college professor of mine (actually he seemed a bit libertarian) saw it like "a car going downhill with no brakes and there is a telephone pole at the end of the hill."

I leave it at this: I'll be 45 in July. I have to worry about my mother and 4 cats and would defend them if I had to. I also pray to God that if anything happens, He gives me the wisdom to protect them and do the right thing. I only have a .22LR rifle, I guess it is better than nothing, I'm of limited means. Most likely, soon, I'll be driving a 26 year old car, hopefully a 1985 Cutlass Ciera would look good in camo, at least the 2.5L Iron Duke is an easier engine to fix. B-) Probably my value would be is I can fix electronics and radios, limited on cars and I'm an amateur radio operator. I guess if my State would secede on the right side or if I go to a State that does, I'd probably would be best at lending my support in the rear areas with my skills and/or radio and computer communications skills, but I want to make sure my family is taken care of first.

I often wonder where we would be today if McCain was elected? I hope we can avert a lot of this in next year's election.

Nah, they get a lot of bad press, but in real life your typical judge just guides things along. The real problem is the law. There must be 6 trillion pages of it. It needs to be scrapped and built anew.

No matter where you might stand on marijuana, I think everyone can agree there is something seriously wrong when a man in (forget the state) is facing more prison time for sharing a joint with a teenager than he would be looking at had he forcibly raped that same teenager. State legislatures are even worse than congress when it comes to special interests and cause celebres.

Hell in Texas, it's often jokingly said that you'll spend more time in jail for leaving a dog in a hot car than a child, and it's not far from the truth.

My son who is 19, was having words with the homosexual brother of a girlfriend a while back. I had to tell him to back off, because if he hurt a gay kid, among other things his picture might be plastered all over the newspaper.

That’s all very plausible to me. That’s the America described in my new novel.

That is exactly National Socialist. It is a tactic preferred by the likes of Obama pal Hugo Chavez.

I'm putting them all on Kindle in the next month or so. Starting with Castigo Cay to try to get it out around the same time as the first print edition.

Be clear, he’s discussing hypothetical civil war tactic, applicable at various times in Russia, Spain, Bosnia etc etc etc. He’s not recommending something to do next week, capiche?

I don’t think the same solutions will work everywhere, or work evenly. I think the USA will break into regions, giving federal lip service only. The NE might remain left/socialist, etc. Sort of like my 3rd book.

The only thing that prevents them from going full-out USSR/Cuba/Venezuela is the thought of the 2nd Amd shitstorm that would come flying back at them.

That pesky 2nd Amd is really a thorn in the side of the would-be tyrants.
