World Net Daily officially 7th Day Adventist?
July 24, 2011 | Self

I just received an email from World Net Daily advertising some books. Not unusual, as I'm on their list, and they send ads all the time. What is strange though, is the fact that all the books in this ad are religious AND take the oddball "7th-day Sabbath" position--definitely a very minority position among conservative evangelicals, and Christians of all stripes.

The ad also hints at some dark conspiracy amidst conventional Christians, accusing us of not reading the bible carefully.

Some evangelical apologists too categorize Adventism (which started with those who firmly predicted Jesus to come again in the 1840s) itself is at least an eccentric sect, following Old Testament and extra-biblical regulations, if not a cult, not unlike many others that got founded about that time.

Is World Net Daily now officially Adventist?

***It’s against their religion to open their door on saturday?***

They answered the door, the boys asked for help, the Adventists then turned turned their backs on the boys saying, “we are doing something else.”, and closed the door. They wouldn’t even let them in to get out of the rain. The boys, about 8 and 10 years old, told this to me as we dried them off.

I was so mad I posted a thread on FR about it but it was so hot it only lasted about 30 minutes on line before being pulled.

Like a liberal historian I can paint over what I don’t like or what gets in the way. ;-D

I have no idea what day was chosen in the beginning. I just know which day they use now.

Does God know which day He chose or did He forget also?

Do you think he gives false information to prophets? Of course not. But I doubt He really cares if you or I get the physical day wrong. After all, His own Son was accused of being a Sabbath-breaker for healing on the Sabbath. He told them to “Lighten up”.
That’s the problem with Pharisaical religion.

Christ wasn’t accused of not keeping the Sabbath, but breaking it.

There’s a difference.

In your estimation, you think it’s a small thing. Christ died because himself could not change the Law. And He made the Law.

indeed!

The sabbath was made for MAN; not the other way around!

In the view of the Pharisees, there was no difference between breaking and not keeping. The Sabbath had become more of a Day of Rules than a Day of Rest. It became a lot of work to rest on the seventh day. That was missing the point.

We are Saved by Grace which is “unmerited favor”. We cannot deserve anything.

That’s an accusation of the Pharisees, not God. The Bible is clear that Christ kept the Sabbath and was sinless.

Jesus broke the rules but He was sinless. That is true. When Jesus’ disciples picked wheat on the Sabbath, they broke the rule. But they didn’t violate the intent.

The problem with religious rules is that they tend to become the focus of the religion.

Caught you using your own words.

Greek word "ginomai." Thayer Definition:
1) to become, i.e. to come into existence, begin to be, receive being
2) to become, i.e. to come to pass, happen
2a) of events
3) to arise, appear in history, come upon the stage
3a) of men appearing in public
4) to be made, finished
4a) of miracles, to be performed, wrought
5) to become, be made

Christ has come, and He has ascended. It's done, finished, the Law is completed. It's done, over, it's "come to pass."

You hold onto the Law likes it's something to be held onto. It's not, it's done, it's completed, it was fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.

Check this passage out:
Gal 4:21-30, Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar — for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children — but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written: "REJOICE, O BARREN, YOU WHO DO NOT BEAR! BREAK FORTH AND SHOUT, YOU WHO ARE NOT IN LABOR! FOR THE DESOLATE HAS MANY MORE CHILDREN THAN SHE WHO HAS A HUSBAND." Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. Nevertheless what does the Scripture say? "CAST OUT THE BONDWOMAN AND HER SON, FOR THE SON OF THE BONDWOMAN SHALL NOT BE HEIR WITH THE SON OF THE FREEWOMAN. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free."

Again,
Gal 5:14-18, "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

How much more proof do you need? WE ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW!

There is no trap. There just is no command in the Bible to observe Sunday as the Sabbath. I know whom I believe and whether Pentecost came on Sunday or any other day you are imposing a tradition and I know about tradition of men from Christ when it conflicts with God’s word (Mathew 15:3). But as a Christian I still have a sabbath “Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest(sabbath) to the people of God.”

***“Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest(sabbath) to the people of God.”***

This rest is found by being IN CHRIST, not in observing any day. Being IN CHRIST means we have CEASED from our own labors of trying to come up to the impossible standards of the LAW. No sacrifices. No law of Moses, No circumcision. We are at rest constantly IN CHRIST.

Rom 7:7 ¶ What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

Gal 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness [come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Gal 3:1 ¶ O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

Gal 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Gal 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Gal 4:9 But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Gal 4:10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.

Gal 4:11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

Gal 4:21 ¶ Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Gal 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.

Gal 4:23 But he [who was] of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman [was] by promise.

Gal 4:24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

Gal 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

thank you for coming out of the closet as a deceiver.

Twisting God’s word much like Bill Clinton twisted the meaning of “is.”

You do not even understand what is meant by the Law.

Obeying God’s law is done to please him, not for salvation, and if you lack the desire to please him you are not his.

>> “The root word of sabbath is shabbath, which is Hebrew for rest.” <<

.
You are unable to sort out these chicken-and-egg questions accurately.

Shabbat as rest comes from the fact that God rested on the seventh day. 99% of the uses of sabbath are for occurances of seven in the Bible.

So instead of showing me where I’m wrong all you do is resort to insults. So typically liberal of you. Just goes to show that whenever the truth is shined, the sinful flee.
