New York’s 9th Congressional District (Brooklyn and Queens) is gearing up for the September 13, 2011 special election to fill the seat vacated by disgraced Democrat Anthony Weiner. Koppelman, a Holocaust survivor who has lived her American life in the district, is a devout Jewish mother and grandmother, with family in both Israel and America. Like many of her generation, she’s also a devout Democrat. Until now. - - - “I have never voted for a Republican in my life” she says. But in this election, “I don’t even care who the Democrat is; I am voting Republican to show Obama I am upset with his policy on Israel.” - - -

Someone smarter than I recently said: "if you voted for Obama to prove you weren't a racist, you now have to vote for anyone else to prove you are not stupid." - - -

I ALWAYS tell Jews in America to vote for whoever is best for AMERICA, as it is up to Israel to take care of herself and we can't expect the American President (whoever he/she is) to be more of a Zionist than our own leaders. However, even when taking Israel out of the picture, I don't see why anyone would re-elect Obama.... - - -

Dems worried that their court Jews are fleeing the palace. - - -

It’s true most Jews are not single-issue voters who only care about Israel. Many are die-hard liberals who will never vote for a Republican no matter how often Obama offended Jewish sensibilities on Israel. But some Jewish centrists and even some liberals are not indifferent to the fact Israelis consider Obama to be the least friendly American president in recent memory. Add in the fact that, like most Americans, Jewish voters understand Obama is an indecisive leader who inherited a shaky economy and made it worse, and that’s a recipe for potential electoral disaster. The one factor Democrats still have going for them is that most liberal Jews are still far more fearful of pro-Israel evangelical Christians because of their stand on church-state separation than they are of Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah or even al-Qaeda. That means a candidate like Rick Perry will likely struggle to improve on John McCain’s poor showing among Jewish voters in 2008 despite doubts about Obama on Israel. That will mean the Democrat “message” to Jews will have far more to do with scaremongering about evangelicals as well as the usual liberal Medicare tactics about entitlement cuts than it will about Obama’s virtues. But that doesn’t necessarily solve Democratic fundraising woes or save weak congressional candidates like David Weprin in NY-9. - - -

"My personal opinion is that Obama could vote for Palestinian Statehood later this month and still get over 50% of the American Jewish vote. Ideology is thicker than blood." Unfortunately, I think you are right. If 78% of Jews could vote for Obama after finding out that his religious mentor blamed 9/11 on Jews, they will vote for him again. - - -

I don't think District 9 is representative of other Jewish communities in the US. True, Obama will not get 78% of the Jewish vote again, but somewhere between 50-65%, which is unacceptable. - - -

I wonder if they would ever give their money to Romney or Perry; both of whom are leagues above Obama in support for Israel. Probably not, but one can always dream - - -

Obama Loses ‘PA Referendum’ in NY Election Republican Bob Turner won an upset in NY’s strongly Democratic 9th district in a special election that focused on Obama’s views of Israel. The ninth district, especially the Orthodox Jewish community, voted strongly for President Obama in 2008 but now gives him an approval rating of only 13 percent, largely because of his backing of the Palestinian Authority.

Obama will not get the level of support of 2008 among any constituency and I would put blacks in there as well. They will stay home. He is a LOSER.

I agree with you about the Jewish vote — barry the zero’s obvious siding with anti-Israel forces has FINALLY made its way to the electorate.

As for Blacks — yes, the vote will go down from 98% to 97.7754%

This will ripple through EVERY Jewish community....... the talk this week at Temple will be about taking a look at supporting a local Repubican as well as the national election. The next debate if I am a candidate I bring up some Israel issues.... the focus on Republicans is NOW!

I’ll give the Jewish vote some possibility. But forget the blacks. Ain’t gonna happen. 95%+

And watch them take to the streets if he loses.

The Dem party would like some challengers, but they are seriously scared of a white person opposing him. They have created and fanned so much racial hatred into the mix with him, that they have monster on their hands. Poetic justice for certain.

Interesting point, I hadn’t thought of that. It does kind of paint them into a corner doesn’t it.

Did you hear Wasserman-Schnootz’s comment about the NY election? She said 3 utterly inane things. I can only paraphrase. Something like (1) “those people, (referring to the voters in the NY 9 district) if they weren’t so ignorant about Israel, would know that Obama is the best choice for them”, and also (2) “those Jews are not like my Jews [in my district] and finally said something like (3) [implying that off-year elections aren’t indicative of anything in particular] “off-year elections are almost inevitably driven by citizens and residents and voters in the election area”.

Don't bet on it. Between the white guilt - Jewish - Black - Hispanic base

Obama can always count on that base to consistently vote Democrat.

Of course he will . . . he's an affirmative action racist from the word go . . . a clear example of the sick results of affirmative action . . .

This is HUGE. Maybe even signifying a sea change in the demographics of the vote makeup in New York State. To take Chuck Schumer’s old seat, not only the combination of Weiner’s escapades and the anti-Israeli positions of the current and now failing obama regime, is but a sign of the growing integration of Orthodox Jews into the fabric of the American mainstream.

For years, the urban Jewish population has held itself apart from the principles and traditions of the Protestant and Catholic hordes that surround them, perhaps in remembrance of the painful past their forefathers has suffered in Europe. But once in America, many of these old stereotypes began to fade, with the awakening of the spirit of what is uniquely American in the hearts and minds of these sons of previous immigrations.

America has been the shining beacon on the hill. Though the illumination has become somewhat dimmed of recent years, we can and will shine forth again, if anything, even more brightly than before.

But first, let us remember we are Americans.

There ARE blacks who will be "busy watching TV" on election day but there are many, many others who would walk over broken glass to reelect this fraud!

Considering how truly bad he's been on their race, doesn't matter one whit to them; the fact that he never "lived black" doesn't matter; what matters is skin color, that and promises of more of "his stash!"

The majority of American Jews are just secular leftists — ideology trumps religion and support for Israel's right to exist. They will vote for Obama again 70%+...it's the campaign cash that may be harder to get from them this time.

Obama will receive the same percentage of the black vote in the next election, the difference will be the number of blacks that are willing to stand in line for more than 5 minutes to vote for him.

I suspect the vote had more to do with reacting to the Weiner disgrace than anything else.

“He really didn’t mean it;” America’s Jews back Obama’s Marxism over Israel’s survival

By Coach Collins, on July 19th, 2011

By Kevin “Coach” Collins

When Barack Hussein Obama suggested a suicidal return to pre- 1967 borders as the way to lasting peace for Israel the politically uninitiated assumed America’s Jews would turn on him and withdraw their support for his re-election. This silliness lasted for a few weeks until prominent elected Jewish Democrats visited Jewish old age homes and other meeting places to reassure them they had not really heard what they heard and saw.

Rahm Emanuel, one of Obama’s favorite “Jewish policemen”, was called in to do damage control and actually said, “That statement [Obama’s 1967 border remark]does not mean a return to 1967 borders.” The great Groucho Marx line, “Who are you going to believe; me or your lyin’ eyes?” comes to mind.

Gallup certifies what we knew was coming

Now that several months have passed since Obama told Bibi Netanyahu that Israel’s suicide would be his best course of action, the few American Jews (overwhelmingly registered Democrats) who expressed some measurable disapproval of Obama have wiped the spittle from their eyes and returned to the Democrat plantation.

Gallup’s most recent poll tells us the “great escape” of Jews from Obama’s trance is over. The survey found the level of support versus disapproval of Obama among American Jews is statistically the same today as it was in March....

Least friendly? He freak’n hates Israel and he insulted and snubbed the Israeli prime minister. Obama and his fellow “think-alikes” are a disaster! Come on 2012!

Jews didn’t just vote for a Republican. They voted for a Catholic Republican over an Orthodox Jewish democrat who never said anything bad about Israel. That’s what is crazy about this election.

"Nope, no campaign donation in here. Next time the Israeli prime minister visits the White Smoke House, I'll have him cool his heels while I eat dinner, then make him leave out the back way by the trash piles...oh wait, I already did that."
