Walter Reed - 6 Years, 4 Months, 332 Consecutive Friday nights - now 9 weeks since our last Rally at the front gates. Seems like whenever the DC Chapter gathers, Walter Reed is still the buzz. The BEST FReep, the COLDEST FReep, the WETTEST, and the SNOWYEST always bring back bitter sweet memories of having to end our Friday night Support the Troop Rallies.
The past two Saturdays in Olney brings back memories of one Cold, Wet and Miserable night at Walter Reed. The weather may have been terrible, but our message resounded with our Wounded Warriors and their supporters. Only in Olney (Say that quickly, 3 times) we were demonstrating our Support the Troops message for about 90 minutes, and during daylight.
WEEK 300: COLD
We only had the cold this week. I guess it wasnt too cold though since four of the moonbats were out. Our list of patriots include Lurkers Bill & Jim, [Mrs] T and myself.
As usual, pictures by [Mrs] T becuase she is camera shy.
BELOW LEFT: Lurker Jim BELOW RIGHT: Me. No picture of Lurker Bill today.
Passing supporters. Most windows are closed because of the cold.
Moonbats - cant figure out what the check is for. Maybe for more tax payer money for Solyndra.
WEEK 301: COLD, WET & MISERABLE
Several Fridays nights ago, our first cold Friday night of this winter season, I was relaxing, looking out our picture window around 7PM. It was dark, being just past dusk, and I thought, if Walter Reed was still open, we would be setting up our banners and flags in the dark and cold. With a tinge of guilt, I was glad we were not out there. Our wounded warriors are safe at their new digs, but .....
Our support for our wounded warriors and our military is not over though.
The Army and Navy are still organizing themselves at the new WRNMC, Bethesda. We are in contact with several groups that will holding BBQs and other events for our wounded warriors. Just need to let Bethesda calm down after the move.
And we are in Olney for Week 301. While FReepers have not been out every Saturday due to Tea Party rallies and Becks 8-28, the local American Legion has held down the fort in our absence. I can only remember once when patriots were not on the corner.
Patriots in Olney on this Week 301: Legionnaire Halsey (USMC - Korea) along with Lurkers Bill and Jim, [Mrs] T and myself. Halsey showed up about 15 minutes late, after [Mrs] T put here camera away to keep it from getting wet.
BELOW LEFT: Lurker Bill BELOW RIGHT: And Lurker Bill since we missed his picture last week.
BELOW LEFT: Lurker Jim BELOW RIGHT: And me. There was a slight wind but the flags were too wet to unfurl. They just got hung up on the flag pole.
One moonbat today. She showed up around 11AM and stayed for only 30 minutes.

Maryland PING!
Thanks for the letting us know what it says. Your eyes are darn good for an “old lady”.
And the Quackers claim they are not political, that they are against ALL wars. Looks more like they are only protesting America.
[Mr] T
Thanks for being there and for the great AAR!
Will see you all soon.
Ha, I am just blessed with near-sightedness. Up close I can see like a magnifying glass. Just don’t ask me to read the road signs when I drive. LOL
Hey Troop keep up the good work I remember seeing you guys and visiting with you all in Feb/Mar 2006 when I was working in the ER at Walter Reed. God bless you all and from a troop here in Afghanistan thanks for what you all do. That devotion to Country and Corps has not gone unnoticed.
Hope to see you at least on Dec. 10, before our Chapter Christmas Party.
[Mr] T
10-4, and LOL
We all remember your visits with us. Thanks for your support in those cold months.
Stay safe and god speed your return.
