Heck no.
The right to keep and bare your butt shall NOT be infringed.
I think it is guaranteed somewhere in the Constitution.
Iowa is a “shall issue” state.
We can and do carry.
Illinois is the state that doesn’t recognize the 2A.
Iowa does allow concealed carry - if you are visiting it is all right to have a Utah permit there. They also are now a shall issue state and this was a very short time ago.
I’m trying to find out how my Congressmen voted, but can’t find it on Thomas. Anyone have the vote details?
However, what happened to Rob Woodall? My girlfriend's family is in that Georgia district. It's a conservative area and he voted no. I got some phone calls to make tomorrow.
There is an enormous difference between saying that states cannot restrict your rights, and saying that states have the power to restrict your rights. You are equating the two. They are opposites.
States have powers. Individuals have rights. They are not the same.
I’m honestly shocked that my rep, Joe Courtney (CT-2) wasn’t a nay.
Eff Illinois. Moving very soon.
My thoughts exactly. What if the libs in the senate see this as an opportunity. An opportunity to add legislation down the road, making it easier to restrict our gun rights federally. Unless there is wording in the law that states this piece cannot be added to, it could be bad.
I don’t like this bill. I think we’re better off leaving this issue to the states where we’re making good progress. So is BATFE going to be the ones to enforce this? To issue regulations to implement it?
I think the ultimate result here is not going to be to expand liberties in those states that restrict permit issuance, but to push them to end their CHP programs altogether. Nothing in this law requires a state to issue CHP’s at all. I think the predictable result is that generally anti-gun states with may issue laws like CA, NY, HI and NJ will simply become no issue states like IL.
You know...It’s kinda funny...
For years we work to expand the concealed carry idea in states and just about the time we get almost all of them to have a “shall” or “may” status, we get this...
It’s almost like these goobers we elect to office feel like they are doing us some sort of favor...
I guess we should be somewhat appreciative of “their” good graces and actions...Whew, I thought we’d never get permission to actually do this...
I apologize to those not understanding my sarcastic tone...
I may need a tissue to wipe away the tears of joy on this fabulous news...
All kidding aside, what has been granted here, can, and probably will have some condition to make it easy to restrict, or remove this provision in the law now...
But, it still has to get the Senate onboard, and in my opinion the 2008 NRA Salesman of the Year Barrack Hussien Obama to sign it...
Anyone wnat to volunteer to hold their breath???
Thanks, no they didn’t kick me out, haha. I got my Utah CCW after moving to CA. If I understand correctly, though, if this bill is signed into law, my Utah CCW would allow me to carry everywhere in the US except Illinois, DC and the state in which I reside. I wonder how this would go over in NY where a resident is required to hold a pistol permit just to possess a pistol. Would this CCW trump that? I know there will still be individual state laws that will be at odds with this bill, if it’s signed into law.
So essentially, you New Jerseyites are still sh*t outta luck if this passes the Senate and ODouche signs it into law(which is not likely).
Grandstanding. Nothing more.
It's either recognized in EVERY SINGLE STATE as the basic human right that it is, or it's pointless.
In case of a National Emergency
Our Constitution is Suspended
along with Our rights
The President rules by edict
IF he says take up the guns then
I see where we’re sending troops to Australia now
UN troops will take Our guns RD
Make Mr. Gunrunner veto this.
However, I'm not an attorney, nor do I play one on TV.
