Last Chance to Elect a True Conservative

"Okay. It is now officially crunch-time for conservative voters. Time for them to grow-up, stand on principle, admit there is not a perfect candidate, cast aside the pretenders, flip-floppers, and flakes, and unite behind the most genuine traditional values espousing candidate in the field. That being Texas governor Rick Perry."

Governor Perry and General Abbott Support Arizona with Amicus Brief

Posted on July 15, 2010

Governor Perry supports Arizona! Yesterday Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott filed an Amicus Brief in support of Arizona in the Federal Governments lawsuit against Arizona, U.S. v. State of Arizona.

Earlier in the week on Fox News with Neil Cavuto Governor Perry said he would not attend the proposed Governors Border Conference if it was not held in Arizona. Video here.

Statement by Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Attorney General’s Amicus Brief in U.S. v. State of Arizona Case Wednesday, July 14, 2010 | Austin, Texas

Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement regarding Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott’s amicus brief in the U.S. v. State of Arizona case:

“All Americans should support today’s actions by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott and other state attorneys general in their efforts to uphold the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and the right of states to provide for the public safety and security of their citizens.

“The federal government has failed to secure our borders as drug activity and murder rates soar in many border communities. States are left with no choice. Until the federal government secures the border, I expect more states to legislate in an effort to protect their citizens.

“Regardless of anyone’s feelings on the Arizona law, we must protect the 10th Amendment and right of states to legislate public safety to keep families and communities secure. I join Texas Attorney General Abbott in opposing the Obama Administration’s effort to undermine the right of states to protect their citizens and govern themselves.”

------------------------------------------------- Where was Governor Perry on the Trans Texas Corridor?

Perry was trying to address a problem we in Texas will soon be realizing in that with the completion of the Panama Expansion Project, Texas roadways and ports will soon be overwhelmed with over 200% increase in cargo traffic and railway transport in the next 10 years. He was trying to get ahead of the game and get these roads, railways, pipelines and utilities built to deal with this and all the while by not increasing Taxes or using Washington DC to do it.

He did have the vision to be looking way way ahead.

But, when he saw it was not a popular idea with us Texans, he did indeed drop it like a hot potato.

I hope we don’t regret it in the next few years. I have been seeing newspaper articles addresses issues already.

The Houston Port is going to have to deal with 11 million 20’ cargo container units coming in compared to 1.8 million now.

Perry did sign HB2702 to address the private property owners and strengthen protections. The bill also insured that the roads that were not toll roads now would remain toll free.

He had private investors willing to pay the initial investment of over 7 Billion dollars with no upfront costs to the taxpayers.

Before that law, the private landowners were offered either a lump sum payment or long term royalty payments like those in the oil and gas industry. But HB2702 gave extra assurances. Example:

The state had to offer to purchase all of the tract if it was left with little or no value.

If the property loses value as a result of the TTC, the state had to provide compensation for damages.

The State was prohibited under this law from condemning land along the Corridor.

The State was prohibited from taking groundwater.

Commercials development was limited to only gas stations and convenience stores.

----------------------------------------- Governor Brewer hasn't signed an exectutive order mandating young girls take Guardisol.

It was NOT a mandate. There was an easy online form that could be filled out and submitted - that is - if it had gone into effect. The EO was an opt out mandate and only called a mandate so that the insurance companies would have to pay for the vaccine should a parent want their daughter to get it.

But since you want to compare Gov Brewer (I like her a lot) to Governor Perry - try this:

http://tammybruce.com/2011/04/assessing-brewers-veto-of-health-insurance-legislation.html

In a move that can only be described as alarming, Governor Brewer vetoed SB1593, the health insurance and interstate purchase legislation that would have opened business for health insurance to be purchased along state lines by Arizonans.

Gov. Brewer’s reasoning on this matter is also baffling to say the least. She expressed concern that specific mandated coverage would be compromised if passed. What she failed to address were the thirty-three mandates imposed by the state that have increased insurance costs greatly right along with the opportunities illegals have taken to access medical care, for which they do not pay (it may come to an end in the next session), costing Arizona a whopping $4 billion a year (from illegals alone) according to a study conducted by Federation of American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and published by www.weneedafence.org on 2/24/2011

------------------------------------------- Governor Brewer Signed into law, the Constitutional Carry Bill, now Arizona residents can carry concealed without a permit.

Would Governor Perry do that?

Yes if Tx Legislature writes and passes the law. He would sign it.

Bobby owes a lot to Perry for taking in a bunch of NOLA criminals beginning in 05. LOL

Jindal did not preside as Executive under Katrina. BLANCO-RAT did.

You sure you don’t need that ESPN link?

You: Oh, you meant Jindal. Of course, still a good guy. Same comment as my Roemer comment. Thought that was kind of strange.

Bobby owes a lot to Perry for taking in a bunch of NOLA criminals beginning in 05. LOL.

That’s funny because that is where I thought you were from.

The people from NOLA were not criminals. There were some but not most. You are a rude ___ (fill in the blank).

You are not very likable and come across like a teenaged hustler.

Why are you on this thread? What are you motives?

What candidate do you support?

Bobby was in the House and the House approved the busing of many to the state of Texas. More were resettled in TX after Rita. So yeah, he owes him.

Save that name for the defeated guy coming back to Austin after NH. Maybe you can the head cheerleader for his defeated parade.

Perry is like his pal Gore, both have marbles in their mouth when they speak. Perry just does it better with a twang.

So since his wife is apparently hispanic (according to you), then that makes it OK that he want's the rest of us to foot the tuition for illegals?

It's more likely that he's pandering for hispanic votes than submitting to some sort of vaginal wrench from his wife.

Here is the analysis: people who hate the TEA party because they unpredictably threw RATS and RINOs out on their ass in 2010 know instinctively that we’ll do it again in November.

We’re amorphous, leaderless and impossible to target using Alinsky rules. Thus, they stab at any of us who might look or
smell like TEA.

Their only mission is to de-moralize.

They did the same thing before the 2010 election, nothing new; they will be swept out of the power structure and go back to being used-car salesmen this December.

So what you’re saying in all of your caps, is that there should be no difference between in state and out of state tuition? After all, you could make the same argument that the children born to U.S. citizens had no choice in being born or brought into the states they reside.

BTW...I do “READ,” which is why I can identify socialist pandering a mile away.

“We could rather these children be educated, graduated and helping Texas economy through their and their payroll taxes than sit on the steps and collect welfare.”

How do ILLEGALS get a job and help the economy through payroll taxes? By stealing an identity. Because anchor babies are already citizens, the “children of illegals” are the illegals who have no right to work in this country, and no entitlement to U.S. benefits. Bleeding hearts don’t change the facts. You ALWAYS get more of what you subsidize.

......."Is Perry perfect? No. Can he debate? Not if you built him a Lincoln-Douglas debating machine. Is he the most conservative of the bunch? Absolutely. Can he beat Barack Obama in November? Like a drum-set at a Genesis comeback concert.". Love that quote.....

You know nothing about most Texas freepers.

Do you realize how stupid you sound?

Considering that most Texas freepers have elected Governor Perry many times ... to every office he’s run for.

The liberal end of the Republican party in Texas does want him out, I’ll admit that.

They even tried getting Kaye Bailey Hutchinson to run against him in the primary. They were SO SURE she would win easily. Well, guess what? She lost miserably.

We prefer the conservative Governor Rick Perry.

As far as your precious Rick Santorum is concerned, the people of HIS state don’t care that much for him. They didn’t want him for senator. He was beaten badly. What does that say about Santorum?

To me it says, he can’t even win his own state.
