Project Gunrunner Wasn't Fast and Furious by Any Means
American Thinker ^ | February 18, 2012 | Russ Vaughn

For those of you who have the unenviable task of debating liberals in your family or workplace, let me render some aid. Liberals are jumping all over the falsehood that Fast & Furious was conceived and put into play during the Bush Administration as Project Gunrunner or Operation Gunwalker. And while it is undeniably true that such a federal operation was put into play by the Bush Administration, there is a huge difference between the Bush initiative and Operation Fast & Furious: motive.

To quote the ATF fact sheet at The U.S. Embassy in Mexico website, here was the goal of Project Gunrunner which did indeed come into existence during the Bush presidency:

ATF is deploying its resources strategically on the Southwest Border to deny firearms, the "tools of the trade," to criminal organizations in Mexico and along the border, and to combat firearms-related violence affecting communities on both sides of the border. In partnership with other U.S. agencies and with the Government of Mexico, ATF refined its Southwest Border strategy. ATF developed Project Gunrunner to stem the flow of firearms into Mexico and thereby deprive the narcotics cartels of weapons. The initiative seeks to focus ATF's investigative, intelligence and training resources to suppress the firearms trafficking to Mexico and stem the firearms-related...

--snip--

And never forget that Obama and his gun-hating administration had what they believed was a clever, fail-safe, fall- back position: if they were exposed they could always point to Project Gunrunner and blame everything on Bush.

When you're talking to those liberal co-workers and family members who buy into this garbage and try to blame Bush, ask them this: how many people, American or Mexican, died as a result of the Bush program?

And then ask how many have died because of Fast & Furious?

Don't worry about anyone but us knowing about Fast and Furious. I spoke to a Lib friend from Southern California and he's never heard of it. I spoke to a friend from Illinois and he'd never heard of it. Big Media isn't reporting on it. Obama and Holder are getting a Get Out of Jail Free card on this one. The populace doesn't know.

The funds raised in these FReepathons go to pay our current quarter expenses. But we're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little extra now, if we can, and the rest next quarter.

It is really hard to debate with stupid.

the donations I made to Susan G. Komen and they turned over to Planned Parenthood were not and never will be used for abortions.

the donations I make to the catholic church that they use to pay their health insurance premiums will not be used to pay for any services that conflict with church teachings because the insurance company will pay for those services with free money

Project gunner runner which Bush personally thought of is the same as Fast and Furious which Obama never heard of.

Obama and Holder are getting a Get Out of Jail Free card on this one.

Holder knew he was home free when he didn't get slapped w/perjury citation last fall. At the Feb 2 hearing he blew off questions again and failed to produce the emails etc, by Issa's Feb 9th deadline. It was breathtaking defiance by the nation's top law enforcer. It only encourages our thug government to commit more crimes.

I'll still hope, but it doesn't look good at all. Boehner will go down as the worst Speaker at least in my lifetime. Unlike rat leaders, very few pubbies know how to use power. Boehner isn't one of them.

There is a YouTube of Holder’s Congressional testimony where he admits that F&F and Gunrunner were two completely different operations. A number of the details are discussed.

Nothing will come of these gunrunning schemes,
Boehner has decided to take a pass on persuing these illegalities.

And I found it.

Holder contradicts Bush did it to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bESZcRMCBKk&feature=player_embedded

Holder admits in Congressional testimony that the Bush-era Wide Receiver operation was completely different from Fast & Furious.

Any Lib that claims they were the same needs to be forced to watch this. If, after watching this, they still claim they were the same, they are nothing but Big Lie propagandists.

debating them is simple.... under linebacker (bush) trackers were placed in the weapons, and we cooperated with the mexican government as to type and location of said weapons... when ONE weapon was lost, the program was shut down..

fubo’s operation never had trackers in the guns, assisted those guns across the border, and never told or cooperated with the mexican government...
