A whopping tax increase is scheduled for 2013 on the working poor. Those making $36,200 will see their Federal taxes increase from 10 percent to 15. That's a whooping 50 percent tax increase on the working poor.
Under Obama, the US Senate adjourned, leaving this increased tax on the working poor. Nevermind, they failed to make their required budget (X times in a row), but they left an immoral tax increase on the working poor.
Beyond that, the Democratic Senate left in place a 2% Social Security tax increase upon them as well.
Obama promised their would not be a tax increase on the middle class, but he never said there would be a tax increase on the working poor. The middle class will feel it, just not as much as the working poor will. For the middle class it will cost us $1218 at a minimum.
But for the working poor, the tax increases will drive many families back into poverty who are already under severe stress from this economy.
With 47% of the population not paying any taxes, 15% multipled by zero is still zero! No sympathy here for the “working poor”.

My husband and I are a couple of the working poor. thanks for pointing out that we don’t pay any taxes...but wait! then where does all that money they take out of our paychecks go? what about my property taxes that i pay? sales tax, gas tax etc? I’m so glad i don’t pay any taxes! s/

The Obamabot is you. You are using Obama’s talking points about the “working poor”. When the working poor “has some skin in the game”, then I will feel for them. Otherwise, those “millionaires and billionares” are paying most all the taxes.

The senate democrats adjourned because their plans have NOTHING to do with helping the poor, no matter what they say.
Democrats’ plans have EVERYTHING to do with increasing their own power.
Impoverishing those trying to escape the poverty cycle increases dependence on government. Dependence on government is the dems’ favorite opiate for the masses.
