Akin Refuse to Drop Out Of Senate Race
Fox2Now ^ | 9/25/2012 | Betsey Bruce

Akin told a crowd of supporters, ” In August I was given a trust , a trust to replace a senator that had not represented Missouri or our best interests.” He added, ” I have one purpose going into November and that’s replacing Claire McCaskill.”

As the deadline to withdraw from the November general election ballot passed, Missouri’s Republican party issued a statement saying it will support Akin along with all the other Republican nominees on the ballot.

I agree no woman should be “forced” to abort a pregnancy via forcible rape. May be she should be given exposure to some of the video’s from links you provide and then LET HER DECIDE if she wants to go through full term unwanted pregnancy.

“Let her decide” if she wants to kill her baby. It’s really too bad that we have fallen so far that this would even be an “option.”

Seriously, even in case of a pregnancy from violent rape, I do not condone abortion after the first trimester. That is because after that the fetus is beginning to look like a human being and is capable of feeling pain.

During the first month of pregnancy, it is not a baby as you call it because there is not a single incident of a fetus surviving outside of mother’s womb during first 10 weeks of pregnancy. It is to medical science a part of mother’s body. I would abhor a society which would force a woman victim of violent rape to be forced to bear a VIOLENTLY FORCED pregnancy to full term.

A mother’s body can have two kinds of DNA? Two hearts? Two brains?

The heart and brain of fetus are non-existent during first few days of conception. Might want to read a little more medical literature about this. Many museums have excellent models of fetus development.

Two posts ago it was the first month. Now we’re down to the first few days.

That still leaves the DNA problem. I wasn’t aware that medical science had determined that a mother could have two sets of DNA.

Well, good luck with your baby-killing project.

I have no baby/fetus killing project. My dilemma comes from victims of VIOLENT RAPES who get pregnant. What is your solution to that situation? Imprison the female victim if she resorts to terminate the forced pregnancy? I am against abortion in ALL other situations including rape after 1st trimester has passed. If the victim has not terminated the pregnancy by then, abortion is no longer justified.

As for your nit-picking on days or months, I am not here to educate you. You can find out yourself. It is irrelevant to the question of pregnancy resulting from violent rape.

The baby is fully human at conception. He is a separate, unique person, distinct from the woman. No, he can’t survive outside the womb for a certain period, but that does not mean he is not a separate person.

You and I just disagree on this issue. That’s all.

I think you misunderstood me. I have no idea who the guy is that he was talking about. I assumed it was some conservative squaring off against a RINO somewhere.

No matter My point had nothing to do with him. My point was that what matters is a candidate’s PHILOSOPHY not his personal virtue or lack thereof. I detest Bill Clinton not because he boinked fat, ugly interns, but because he was a leftist.

Personal virtue is a nice plus - but only that. I’ll take a philandering dog-fight refereeing, banana-peel-smoking Constitutionalist over a leftist who goes to church every week, is perfectly faithful to his wife, and is nice to his mommy.

Won’t you?

Hank

The penalties would be whatever they used to be. The penalties for the woman were pretty insignificant, considering the enormity of the act. The harshest penalties were reserved for the butchers.

You can continue to ignore the DNA problem, but that won’t make it go away.

Regarding the medical community, the AMA defines conception as implantation. The organization changed its position from fertilization in the early ‘70s, so that the pill could be classified as a contraceptive, rather than as an abortifacient (The pill thins the uterine lining and can prevent implantation.)

And you said it according to your own words, pregnancy caused by rape is rare. Well, wouldn’t that make a drastic reduction in the number of abortions if cases of rape, and even then, suggestions of alternatives to abortion were applied in cases of rape (adoption, possibly)?

Off topic but the fact that he has been silent since the attacks in Libya prove how wrong he is for the job.

It pretty much shows how all Obama’s so-called principles of morality were all phony, including no half-finished wars (Libya), no dumb wars (killing Gadhafi to supplant him with a rebellion, which unless someone is illiterate to history, bin Laden and Zawahiri got their start in trying to overthrow Mubarak, the Saudi royal family, and Gadhafi; if anything, the rebels are likely supporters of al-qaeda), then there’s failure, after an armed conflict, to deliver the facts about the attacks (he promised transparency?) anyways, Obama has broken all his promises of principle, as if that was even supposed to be a surprise, it wasn’t and isn’t to plenty of people.

I agree, and in addition to what you said, after the first trimester, that’s also where the abortion has the probability of being sex-selective. Again, abortion is a tough game to play, but if we fail to really fight the battle, you’ve got a Frankenstein monster type disaster looming in the picture. China, India, and Russia are the three keywords that come to my mind.

“a drastic reduction in the number of abortions” is still too many—even one is too many.

Adoption is always an option.

LET HER DECIDE if she wants to go through full term unwanted pregnancy.

What if you were that "full term unwanted pregnancy?"

Cordially,

Then my mother gets to decide since I would be 100% dependent on her body and mind during the first few weeks.
