ELECTION DAY November 6, 2012 ***LIVE THREAD I***
FREE REPUBLIC!!! | 11-6-12 | Free Republic

Posted on 11/06/2012 3:18:47 AM PST by RKBA Democrat

The polls are open on the east coast!!

From this morning's election day prayer thread:

"Heavenly Father may you forgive this nation and its people for the many awful sins that we have commited against you. We do not deserve the wonderful ways we have been blessed and please forgive us for our indifference, neglect and complacency towards you. May you forgive us who are members of your Church who have neglected our calling and commitment to you to be effective witnesses and stewards of the many blessings you have generously bestowed upon us. Many of us have cried out to you for the past few years as never before and we humbly beseech you to bring an overwhelming, crushing defeat on the forces of darkness in our nation. First we pray that you quicken your Church by your spirit and lead us to unity to stand against the onslaught of darkness upon us. May you smash every crooked deed as evil men and women try to hold onto power and may this be so convincing that everyone knows that your hand is in this. Then we may bring the light of your Gospel to our people who do not know you and to the nations of the world.

May you block and undo every policy and piece of legislation they have passed that is harmful to this nation. May you make every policy they make fail and may you turn the hearts of the multitudes against them. May you thwart every evil deed they try to divide this nation with. May you bring their own mischief upon them ten fold. May you punish those in our government who are lawless traitors and enemies of the Constitution by exposing them and deliver them into our hands for justice. However we also pray that through this that you open their eyes to the truth and in your mercy that you bring these people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to serve as a witness to many. May you also use this to bring revival across our nation and a restoration of a culture that glorifies You. We also pray for those just leaders in our government who are struggling against the lawless. We pray for your protection and that you embolden them to do what is right to triumph in the election and in the arena of ideas. May you also continue to open the hearts and minds of the American people to the the truth and draw them towards yourself to be renewed in repentance and spiritual rebirth.

And this we humbly ask in Jesus name. AMEN!"

Sounds weird that they don’t know today who voted last week.

Well then that completely goes against ALL the news and real numbers we’ve been getting from OH.

Not unless a ton of Republicans voted for Obama.

Ignore the exit polls, they are taken between 11:00AM and 2:00PM so they favor democrats, because evening voters coming home from work tend to be Republican. The exit polls showed Kerry winning handily in 2004, needless to say that didn’t happen.

Hey Everyone!!!

I’m in all night, if I can reload... :-)

Anyway, here’s a report from Farmington, Minnesota:

Turnout was huge, more than I ever saw there. Parking spots were hard to find. Lots of people in & out and we are a strong (R) area.

Hoping that’s an indicator. Talk with you all thru the evening...

Tim

VA unemployment figures are relatively low, because of the federal govt. Too many cockroaches and people who benefit from big govt here.

Military should be scared of big cuts coming, however.

Bill Cunningham on Hannity. Massive turnout in strong republican areas..says if the republicans that are in line right now stay to vote, there is no chance for Obama.

Exit polls don’t mean a thing. A reminder from Gov. Walkers recall election earlier this year:

As voting stations closed in Wisconsin on Tuesday, anchors and reporters at CNN, MSNBC and even Fox News cautioned, based on exit polls, that America was in for a “long night” of awaiting election results as exit polls showed the race was “too close to call.”

Then, suddenly, just 49 minutes after the polls closed, Fox, CNN and the rest of the networks all called the race for Walker over Democrat Tom Barrett.

The actual vote totals coming in showed the exit polls had been wrong. A race that the media’s expensive exit polling apparatus had insisted was too close to call was not close at all.

Exit polling is why Kerry was elected president in 2004!

Thank you Mama Bear. I need things now - to occupy my mind. This election does that but is stressful too, lol.

Makes sense to me. Senior citizens are likely to vote early, and working adults are likely to vote late.

2nd district MD:

I took this picture about 10:30 today about 1/3 of the way in line. It more than doubled by the time I voted one hour later.

A small sample of the pro-zero propaganda that they teach our children.

Three GOP signs disappeared in that time. I went and replaced the signs and more had disappeared by then.
The pro-gay marriage jerks were there in force but, I never saw crowds this large here. More than 2008 and also 2010. I estimate an average of 300-400 most of the day.

Exit polls were taken up to 2 PM. They always favor Ds. It won’t hold up in any state.

Yes, exactly. However some indication of how a race is going to go can be extrapolated by comparing the early exits to the final results for past elections, then applying the delta. It's not precise, but it'll show trending ok.

We need to have that sort of comparative analysis to draw any sort of conclusion here.

Reporting in from a sunny day in beachy SoCal, with individuals and couples steadily entering our voting precinct, but with over 20 voting booths, there was no waiting. Couldn’t really tell who was voting for whom, young parents, retired people, one “Pat” person with boobs. I don’t think I have ever waited to vote in my life; it’s usually walk in, say some name (no ID) and get a ballot. I happen to legally say my own name but that seems to be pretty arbitrary if you don’t ask for ID.
