Now the Democrat, two months away from leaving Washington state government, is looking to finalize one more big agreement.

I remember when my Dad came out to visit me and had to pay 15% to rent a car, was shocking to my parents who are from the country on the east coast.

Not having to pay Washington state sales tax is one of the things that make it fun to shop on the internet.
Maybe she’ll slip in the shower and break a hip.
Get your figures straight. When I buy on-line, I pay more in shipping charges than I would pay sales tax on MOST items under $200 (which are majority of items sold on-line) if I walked into a brick & mortar store locally.
I like on-line for the convenience. It saves me time, and I do not have to fight crazed shoppers looking for bargains.
You are completely wrong. I own a main street business in a rural farm town. I also sell the exact same products nationally and internationally via a website.
Many of my local buyers buy from me online and zip by on their lunch break or on their way home from work to pick up their order. Or they are using a mobile shopping app and use their smartphone to find my shop.
Main street businesses that do not have a website or sell online are simply failing to adapt to the market.

I disagree! The consumer is benefitting, because it isn’t the lack of a sales tax that’s the greatest appeal ( although the idea of keeping even a little bit of my money out of the hands of the morons in state government is appealing), it’s the convenience and the broad spectrum of selection. Here in CA they’ve started trying to collect “use tax” from residents on their state income tax returns. You can either claim what you’ve actually paid, or have them “figure” it on your AGI. I decided to let the tax program “ figure” my liability and it turned out to be a pittance.
Still trying to sell the problem as someone else not paying their “fair share,” as opposed to the government class spending far, far more than any projected revenue they can reasonably expect.
They will fail, yes. They will take America with them.
