The Justice Department will notify a federal court Friday that it is joining one of his former racing teammates in suing him for using performance-enhancing drugs during the Tour de France, legal sources told NBC News.

The government is signing on to a lawsuit filed two years ago by Floyd Landis, one of Armstrong's former Tour de France teammates who has already admitted cheating. Among its claims: Landis saw Armstrong store and then re-inject his own blood to boost his performance, and Armstrong twice gave Landis banned hormones before races.

This is going to be interesting. The DoJ is joining on behalf of the US Postal Service. But, USPS clearly got their money's worth during their sponsorship. So how are they going to prove some sort of damage or contract violation?

It seems as though their contracts would have had to specify him staying free of PEDs while representing them.

I agree...where is the damage. Of course, if Holder assigns a battery of his crack prosecutors on this, they will have less time to look into voting fraud and treasonous sales of technology to China.

Let’s ban sports. They get kids, whip them up into a frenzy, feed them drugs and etc. It’s not healthy.

This is definitely something the DOJ of a nation deep in the hole should concentrate its resources on.
Never mind terrorists and millions of illegals, let's pile onto ONE GUY.

How about collecting all the “loans” from the wind/solar companies the Energy Department made first? I’d hazard a guess that the total dollar value outstanding is much more substantial than what Armstrong received.

My guess is that it did. I’d be surprised if they didn’t have such a clause in the contract. Lance is on the way down. It’s just a matter of how long it takes to get to the bottom. I suspect that he’ll be penniless when this is all over unless he’s got some placed in offshore accounts.

They will crucify Lance. And, honestly, he has it coming. If he is smart, he as a few million $$ stashed away in a Swiss bank account.

Why does Floyd get to sue Armstrong because he saw him do something.

Can I sue Floyd Landis because I watched the Tour De France and he ruined it for me by using drugs?

Because I think I have a better claim than he does. Is he suing because he wasn’t as good at doing drugs as Armstrong? That’s two things Floyd wasn’t as good as Lance doing.

So true.

Lance hurt our spirit.....Corzine hurt people in their pockets...... and probably
in some cases their livelihood, and retirements

Armstrong needs to be sued by everyone who he ruined along the way.

That said, the Obama administration's flaky who politically dropped the Armstrong investigation needs to be brought to justice.

The DOJ now getting involved in the actions of a bicycle racer???

I've always thought that one had to be found in posession of a drug in order to be charged. Guess the rules are changing........

"Armstrong needs to be sued by everyone who he ruined along the way."

That's why I say this is going to be interesting. The question of damages is answered [in court] by proving you've been injured. Everyone associated with Lance's astonishing career seems to have done quite well ...except Landis, maybe.
