Apparently this was sent by an active duty soldier in Afghanistan:

what’s the excuse - sequester? Or did Moochelle order this?
Blame it on the sequester.
Unbelievable. Words fail me...
Michelle think they’re too fat? Or are they blaming it on sequester?
Outrageous!
Well....uh....where I was deployed (Uzbekistan) there was a growing weight problem among soldiers who rarely went outside the perimeter which was most of us. With the ban on alcohol, O’Doul’s & junk food were the sole comfort items. Our gym tent & P.T. track stayed extremely busy.
This might be a local commander’s new health & welfare policy. If Army nutritional guidelines are being met, there’s some room for adjustment. Morale is always important and first rate chowhall food keeps morale high like few other factors.
No midrats? Mutiny!

No midnight chow?! You’ve gotta be f*&(in’ kidding me!
No Coffee?!
General Patton would approve:
American GI Cook: Up bright and early, General? Uh, breakfast?
Patton: Am I to understand that my officers have already finished eating?
American GI Cook: Uh, well, we’re open from six to eight. Most of the men are just coming in now.
[Indicates two soldiers who enter the mess hall]
Patton: Please inform these men that the mess hall is closed.
American GI Cook: But sir, it’s only a quarter ‘til eight.
Patton: From now on, you will open at six, and no man will be admitted after six-fifteen.
This is awful. A friend has a relative in Afghanistan & told me the following: They stopped serving hot breakfasts due to the sequester. Her relative leaves early & goes on 18 hour patrols & was missing at least two meals a day. He posted on his Facebook page that he was hungry & asked his family to send food. He ended up getting in trouble for it, & had his page taken down. Can’t let the folks back home know how they’re being abused. They do get snacks to take with them, but that’s not enough for heavy duty like this.
This is pure hatred of the military. The current administration hates the military and is doing all it can to destroy it.
Sending men out among bearded savages on an empty stomach is going to lead to more casualties. I just made the connection. The media won’t.
What ever happened with “an army marches on its stomach.”
well those combat troops just got to get in line at the chow hall during the 3 hours allowed for meals
DISGUSTING
but from what we have been told, in the fall, we loose breakfast to MRE's
Livin the dream in the "stans"
We had it made at Camp Stronghold Freedom aka “K2” in Uzbekistan. The DFAC was run by KBR & featured the best chow I have ever known in the military. Eggs/omelets to order breakfast, cold cuts for lunch (didn’t need much after that breakfast!) and supper which every week featured king crab & lobster tail on Friday, grilled steak on Saturday and seafood gumbo on Sunday (from leftovers).
Try losing weight on that fare!
Oh - forgot to mention: Karshi-Khanabad was a majority Air Force & contractors installation, so they always ate well. I was with an Army maintenance detachment. We were so glad to be there. If you were going to be deployed, it was the place to be.
Breakfast here is by far the best...
What I have found is the German bases (Mazar E-Sharif, & Herat) have got it down to the best I have found in theater, the portions are small but always good... I heard that the German Commanders are not pleased because the weight problems encountered by their troops, might be the reason the German forces are not restricted from US defacs but not encouraged to be utilized.
