Dems pin immigration hopes on GOP's Ryan

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrats doggedly pursuing a far-reaching immigration bill are counting on help from Republican Rep. Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney’s running mate last year and an unlikely candidate for delivering the centerpiece of President Barack Obama’s second-term agenda.

Ryan, the House Budget Committee chairman who is frequently mentioned in the GOP lineup of possible 2016 presidential candidates, stands apart from many fellow House Republicans in favoring a way out of the shadows for the 11 million immigrants living in the U.S. in violation of the law.

He casts sweeping overhaul as a necessity to ensure both economic and national security — a fitting argument for an acolyte of Jack Kemp, the late Republican congressman and 1996 vice presidential candidate who backed an ill-fated effort in 2006 to overhaul the immigration system.

‘‘Paul Ryan says we cannot have a permanent underclass of Americans, that there needs to be a pathway to citizenship,’’ says Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., who has been working relentlessly on immigration legislation. ‘‘He is my guiding light. I know I get him in trouble every time I say it.’’

Senior White House aides often mention the Wisconsin Republican as crucial to the prospects for legislation this year, hoping the Republican with impeccable conservative credentials will sway recalcitrant House members. Ryan also is a reminder of two other powerful forces backing an overhaul of immigration laws ..........

“What do they have on Ryan?”

Don’t know what they’ve got on him. Perhaps, metaphorically speaking, a strange sex act with a chicken? Regardless, if he bends over for the Dem’s he should forget about ever becoming POTUS and concentrate on being the best congressman Wisconsin has ever had.....

Out of the Shadows. LOL

Illegals have virtually nothing to worry about in the vast majority of areas where they are located.

And what factory jobs would they be that need filling?

“...What factory jobs. They’re wanted for votes...”

That is why many Repbubbies want them, pressure from industry.
To compete they need cheap labor.
I have seen it!!! I have lived it!!
Never doubt American company to screw it’s people to make a buck.
(unlike most Asian-European co.)

>> that there needs to be a pathway to citizenship,’’ <<

There is ALREADY a pathway to citizenship:

1) Return to your native country
2) Apply for residency in the USA
3) After being granted residency, move to the US and live here 2 years
4) Apply for Citizenship
5) Pass the Citizenship Test

There! All done! No new legislation needed.

So do I. Ryan can kiss any hope of any future national campaigning for any national office. I’ll stay home if he does. The GOPe has to die.

AHAH, the House version of Rubio, I love the reference to Jack Kemp, another GOP compassionate talkingloser.

Dont forget those 10 year budget resolutions Ryan dreamed up that had sooo many swoooning for him around here, and mad at me when I called them phony.

OK, politics 101:
Ryan never really planned on getting a balanced budget into law(he never even wrote a balanced budget bill), or replacing the military sequester cuts as he claimed he was for, those were just symbolism for the gullible in GOP.

However in the case of amnesty he is serious about getting a bill to Obama’s desk.

Understand the difference.

And yet by pushing a law that is so adverse to the interests of tax paying Americans and to all American citizens, Ryan is discrediting himself every bit as much as Rubio. Pathetic.

The biggest problem Conservatives have is the large collection of jackasses they have been forced to accept as political leaders in the GOP.

And in that collection of Jackasses, this jackass is one of the biggest.

Damn fool couldn’t even deliver his own state in a Presidential election and now he’s trying to act as a policy maker.

Damn fool should shut up and sneak back into his house like he sneked out of it before that other damn jackass Romney picked him.

Paul Ryan, like Marco Rubio, had such a bright future.

Paul Ryan, like Marco Rubio, is now dead to me.
