Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said Sunday he would not vote for a deal to reopen the government and raise the debt limit if it cannot attract support in the Republican-led House, arguing there is little point in claiming victory if a deal does not pass muster in the other chamber of Congress.
If the deal cannot attract the majority of House Republicans, “that really does compromise Speaker Boehner’s leadership,” Mr. Graham told ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, adding he understands that defunding or delaying Obamacare is not a viable option.
Mr. Graham said the last thing Mr. Boehner needs is to see his leadership tinkered with further, after the hard-right wing of the Republican Party insisted on changes to Obamacare as a precondition of any deal.
The strategy has not worked, and recent polls give poor marks to the GOP.

We're obviously on the same page, as regards Linda Graham, but I did misunderstand the intent of your primary comment. Text can be a troublesome communication medium.
....As the old government guard WANTS everything to stay as it is..which wastes in the billions time and money. They do not want to change even when there are clear and easy ways to do so.
Additionally the Gov. workers have no incentive to do a good job at what they are assigned to do...my son battles them all the time...they do only what they have to and many not even that....he has to constantly put a fire under their butts! The reason is they pretty know their jobs are secure....and that's all they want...it doesn't matter to them if or not they excel at their work or not....and those who it does matter have to constantly battle with them]!
Somebody could do a M.A. thesis to find out what KY people see in McC.
