Senate Republicans huddled Tuesday to discuss the latest on the fiscal crisis engulfing the Capitol, but two key members of their conference were missing from the lunch: Ted Cruz of Texas and Mike Lee of Utah.
Multiple senators confirmed the absence of the two senators, who have led the crusade in the Senate to shred the presidents health care law.
I dont account for their schedules, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) quipped when asked about Cruz and Lees absence.
Cruz and Lee could become an obstacle to moving quickly on a fiscal deal in the Senate, where consent from all 100 senators is required for speedy action. Asked repeatedly on Monday evening whether he would object to an emerging deal in the Senate to raise the debt ceiling and reopen the federal government, Cruz declined to respond.

Cruz and Lee are the Loyal Opposition to the GOP-e. And they have my complete support.
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants... bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society. Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors. ...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.

Sen. Rand Paul is hammering his fellow senators for keeping billions in financial aid flowing to Egypt’s military — even as Cairo’s security forces massacre anti-government activists.

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

The french republicrat party is now finished. They will not have the 40 million conservative base. There is now no redemption. There is no healing . There is no reconciliation. This is political war with the RINOS. Peter King, Boehner (total weakling) Cantor, Boehner’s butt boy. Mc Connell,McCain,Limpy Gramnesty..Cornyn. It is these ( name more) that are the traitors to this conservativism. It is these we now turn, in the political context, to make their live miserable.
They better have an army of bodyguards.
it’s time for a third party
“I don’t account for their schedules”
Why couldn’t he just say,”beats me,” like a regular guy?
I wouldnt want to eat lunch with them either. Its time for revenge. If i were cruz i would spend the rest of my time in politics ratting out my peers. Tell the american people all the little back room deals, the dirty little secrets and the way the government really works.

Yes. So?
At the risk of bringing down FReeper wrath upon me, there is an important distinction that we need to make.
1. We now have evidence that the Tea Party wing effectively controls the House Republicans and, with them, the House.
2. John Boehner stood with them throughout -- much to everybody's pleasant surprise. He didn't fold until Mitch McConnell and the Republicans in the Senate sold him out. And, at that point, the battle was, in fact, lost.
3. Our real problem, therefore, resides within the Senate Republicans. Is this not the third time now that McConnell and the Senate Republicans have negotiated a deal with Reid and the Democrats that has left Boehner and the House Republicans high and dry?
In other words, House Republicans are not a problem -- save the pipsqueaks like Peter King (R-NY). The real problem is in the Senate -- starting with Mitch McConnell and the likes of Lindsay Graham, John McCain, Lamar Alexander, etc.
Thus, our job is to a.) cull out the fakers and the porkers among the Republican Senators, adding to the conservative core of Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, et al and b.) regain majority control of the Senate in 2014.
Ted, Mike and Sarah should found a 3rd Party—Maybe get Trump to fund it. The Liberty Party. In a month it would be coast to coast-—The Tea Party independent party! That or take over the Conservative Party or the Constutional Party.
Call it the American Party. Tar the two others as the Unamerican parties. Go full throated national.
We’ll see, but I’ve heard this before. Conservatives livid at corrupt Republicans for some betrayal, but end up supporting them when election time comes around. McCain and Graham are prime examples. Conservatives better start walking the walking and not just talking the talk, or we’re going to end up with Senators Graham and McConnell and a host of more of the GOPe once again next year.
.
