‘Tech Surge’ Planned To Fix Obamacare Exchanges.

The Department of Health and Human Services said Sunday it was bringing in outside help to resolve some of the technical woes that have beset the federally run insurance exchanges, which the agency acknowledged “has not lived up to the expectations of the American people.”

“We are committed to doing better,” agency officials said in a blog post that also said that “our team is bringing in some of the best and brightest from both inside and outside government to scrub in with the team and help improve healthcare.gov.”

Spokespeople for the agency didn’t immediately respond to questions seeking more information about the development, which it is billing as a “tech surge.”

What a bunch of nimrods - they seem to think that bringing in new programmers is akin to bringing in a master mechanic to work on a standardized car model, like a VW Bug ...

In reality, these new programmers will have to spend time pouring over the hundreds of thousands of lines of code in order to get a sense of the other programmers' nuances BEFORE they can attempt to re-code. It like forgers studying artist's paint stroke techniques BEFORE forging paintings ...

Or, more likely, they will find that it would be better to re-write the code from scratch ...

Oh goodie! Something to do for the 500,000 techie parasites who made a good living off fixing the Y2K problem fifteen years ago which was an insider well paying joke.

History repeats itself.

Nothing can fix it in time for the January deadline as any programmer will tell you. This is a fix that will requite a lot of time to fix.

The D.C. "brain trust" has apparently never heard of "The Mythical Man-Month" by Fred Brooks.

This will end badly for everyone.

Is this like getting nine women pregnant in order to get a baby in a month (well on the average you will :-)

Yeah, and a “tank surge” was tried to turn the tide for Hitler in December 1944. How’d that work out?

Ditto from someone who's seen software projects screwed up beyond all recognition.

Ah, when they’ve made all their sweethearts happy, they will end up with a second kludge.

God has cursed this enterprise. We’re seeing it now.

What I see lining up to happen is that they will cobble something together that will (finally) let people log on to the website and enter in their application data trouble free and voila! They'll pronounce it fixed, meanwhile the rest of the system remains broke as hell and non-functional. It's all about appearances to fool the non-technical and low info voter crowd. Guarantee you this is the "fix" they're going for.

Doesn’t matter how many techs or how much money they throw at it, the old rule will still apply: ‘Garbage in, garbage out.’

Well, any idiot knows you can’t get much of a web site at all for a mere $660 million.

The goal is for it to stay broken and claim single payer is the only way to fix it. The GOPe will go along in order to avoid blame for being partisan and obstructionist by the MSM and push polls.

"adding manpower to a late software project makes it later".
Fred Brooks, The Mythical Man-Month (1975)

Bammy & Co. never done a software project, much less anything of value in the past, and never took time to learn from those who had.

Time for history to repeat for the totalitarians!

Or, more likely, they will find that it would be better to re-write the code from scratch ...

The first rule of any software project is always to decide what to build. The second rule is how to build it. If you get the first rule wrong, trying to get the second rule right will only make the outcome worse and the burn a deeper hole.

Pelosi, Reid, and Obama from the get-go made sure the first rule would be unrecoverable. The GOP must offer no assistance, short of canceling the project outright and firing all the contractors!

Ah yes, the “get 9 women pregnant to produce a baby in a month” management technique.

The entire Federal Exchange system needs to be re-designed from the ground up, a requirements freeze initiated, and then a structured engineering effort, likely using the Spiral Development method, in parallel with building a current-tech virtualized infrastructure that can be scaled on-the-fly as needed.

And SERIOUSLY work both the Interface and Privacy issues. . .

But what do I know, I’m just an engineer who has rolled out numerous successful systems using just this method . . . .

Words. This administration is fond of them - especially when there is no tangible substance with which to back them up.

Navigators - loving caring helps that guide you......all the while with their criminal backgrounds, no background checks, no education, no provenance - no nothing but a connection to the Democrat Party.

O’President’s words. “We are going to track down those responsible and bring them to justice” Meanwhile allowing them to retire, shielding them from Congressional inquiry and so on.

“Tech Surge”...yeah....right...best and brightest. No matter how many experts, prodigies, or wizards you bring in there is the basic problem that you are designing (or repairing) by committee led by dogmatic ideologues where ‘healthcare’ is the furthest thing from their mind.

Words. Just words.

Yup. Back to the GoDaddy website builder for these guys! Who'da thunk it would be so hard?
