New Law - The Affordable Boat Act, 2014

The U.S. government has just passed a new law called: "The affordable boat act" declaring that every citizen MUST purchase a new boat by April 2014.

These "affordable" boats will cost an average of $54,000 - $155,000 each. This does not include taxes, trailers, towing fees, licensing and registration fees, fuel, docking and storage fees, maintenance or repair costs.

This law has been passed because, until now, typically only wealthy and financially responsible people have been able to purchase boats. This new law ensures that every American can now have a "affordable" boat of their own, because everyone is "entitled" to a new boat. If you purchase your boat before the end of the year, you will receive 4 "free" life jackets (not including monthly usage fees).

In order to make sure everyone purchases an affordable boat, the costs of owning a boat will increase on average of 250% - 400% per year. This way, wealthy people will pay more for something that other people don't want or can't afford to maintain. But, to be fair, people who can't afford to maintain their boat will be regularly fined and children (under the age of 26) can use their parents' boats to party on until they turn 27; then must purchase their own boat.

Next in line: the affordable house act, the affordable food act, the affordable millionaire act, the affordable car act, the affordable dishwasher act, the affordable Jacuzzi act, the affordable new stove act, the affordable barbecue act, the affordable HDTV act, the affordable sport franchise act, the affordable plane act..... Welcome to socialism, Obama style. When there are no absolutes to govern society, society becomes the absolute. We are there now.

You can keep the boat you currently have. Thats a promise. - - Barack Hussein Obama II

....That is unless you have a substandard boat, i.e. a catamaran or other unsafe multihull, or a boat with a rot-prone wooden hull, or any other idiosyncrasy that BHO gets into his head, in which case you won't be able to keep the boat you already have.

But not to worry! You can log onto boarcare.gov and find a BETTER boat for far less money than you are spending on that current bad apple you got saddled with by that fly-by-night shady operator. Your NEW boat will feature cast iron plumbing, solar panels and a complete urine recycling system!

Lucky You!

Great! Now I can trade my old boat in for a bigger, better (govt subsidized) boat.

Thank God that society now realizes that boat ownership is a right, not a privilege.

Is the boat only available full price, or is it on sail?

Thank God that society now realizes that boat ownership is a right, not a privilege.

Now everyone knows that gun ownership is a legitimate constitutionally mandated right for all Americans. Why isn't the government buying guns for those citizens who are unable to afford their own firearms?

That would make a great platform for a candidate for Governor. Arms for the Armless.

I don’t have a use for a boat, but I do need all the free legal services I can muster. We live in a world created by lawyers made up of laws. Why isn’t legal services a right? Why isn’t it free? Shouldn’t lawyers work for free? Aren’t lawyers profiting off of someone’s misery? Why doesn’t every American have a right to best legal representation on the planet? (I’m snarking but this is the same meme used to get free healthcare)
