Antarctic Expedition to Plant 'Thousands of Trees' to Off Set Carbon Footprint of Rescue (!!!)
Breibart blog ^ | 1-5-2014 | Elizabeth Sheld

Members of the Antarctic expedition trapped in the regions icy tundra have pledged to plant "thousands" of trees to "cover" the carbon footprint resulting from their rescue. The Russian ship Akademik Shokalskiy became lodged in ice on Christmas Eve during a research study on global warming.

Debate has heated up, no pun intended, over exactly how many trees will need to be planted to offset the rescue effort's "damage."

The expedition had pledged to plant about 800 kauri trees in Northland to cover its carbon footprint. Environmentalists believe planting trees helps to offset the impact of burning fuels such as diesel.

Anything to keep these nutcases in the news loop......

Next time send a nuclear powered submarine, and they should pledge to build a couple (dozens?) nuclear power plants?

Yes, and I am sure they will form a ring and sing songs to praise Mother Gaia.

Instead of US Coast Guards and us US Taxpayers.

They do realize everyone of them will die within days, right? This is satire, right?

Funny, you’d think they would have planted them in
Antarctica...

First thought came to mind -

Fake Christmas trees can survive planting in Antarctica.

Any one noticed this? ‘.... to offset the rescue effort’s “damage.” ‘?

These numbskulls view their rescue as ‘damaging’.

So to avoid ‘damage’, ignore them and let them thaw out by natural ways......

Here’s the problem with these dingbats. Imagine if you had just planted thousands of Trees...because of your footprint, your “net” amounts to zero. Idiots!!

I don't know where that is....

Northland is one of the regions of New Zealand. The main center is the city of Whangarei and the largest town is Kerikeri.

Plant the trees, and another group of enviro-nazis will cut them down to make way for wind farms.

Look at it this way, they could have paid for the abortions on demand for a number of babies that would be the equivalent of the number of trees and have a longer lasting effect.
Then on the other hand, they could kill themselves and a number of relatives to offset the damage they have inflected upon the environment.
Will this curse of Global Warming never end?

My guess is that they are catching a lot of flak from their fellow true-believers. They were mocked so brutally on the internet (at a time of a severe cold wave in the US), and the combination of the two has to have an effect on the lower information types.

This is their penance, and path back into the good graces of the flock.

I was going to suggest planting 800 ‘climate scientists’ as that would have an IMMEDIATE effect on any so-called carbon footprint.....

Actually, increased CO2 levels result in increased plant growth....naturally.
