Too old to be given cancer treatment: NHS is 'writing off' patients who are over 75
Daily Mail ^ | 1/23/14 | Jenny Hope

Pensioners with cancer are being written off as too old to treat, campaigners said yesterday.

They cited figures showing survival rates for British patients aged 75 and over are among the worst in Europe.

Young lung cancer sufferers are only 10 per cent more likely to die within five years than their continental counterparts.

But pensioners with the disease have 44 per cent less chance of survival.

The figure for stomach cancer – at 45 per cent – is even worse.

You really don't get it do you? Who made the decision, your doctor or your government?

Was the decision based on tax payer dollars or was it a doctors professional opinion?

Time for you Brits to execute 10 Nazi bureaucrats for every pensioner they try to kill. If you don’t do that, you’re next.

The Soviet system and today’s Russian system treat people with cancer, even the elderly.

I predict that old people will cause the burden of paying gubermint employees to be drastically reduced.

That’s actually not a bad idea. Ever try to get life insurance if you are over 75?

I think of the cost of insurance for the elderly (I’m 60, btw as kinda like reaching the speed of light. As you go faster and faster, your mass increases, eventually causing too much energy to be needed to speed you up to the speed of light.

Health insurance should continue to increase with age to the point that it’s just too expensive. So you don’t have insurance but depend on your own wallet to help you out of things like cancer. If you can’t afford it, well, you die. It’s my plan. Heck, I’ve been insurance free since the beginning of the year. But then, we live very healthy lives, ingest plenty of B-17, use a masticating Juicer, etc. The good Lord will take us away to a better place at a time of His choosing.

Now, if you are a young man with a family depending on you, that’s a different thing. But you had better be under 75.

I’m very glad morphine worked for your husband. It’s really a gift from God and yet so many people abuse it. I hope no one says anything negative about your post.

Morphine is a blessing for those suffering extreme pain.

It is my opinion that Stage 1 or 2 cancers have a chance for a cure, but spending half a million dollars on chemo for a person over 75 with stage 4 or 5 cancer is almost always devastating, because even with a couple of months in remission the cancer re occurs shortly thereafter. Too much suffering with false hope, and I have seen that.

Better to let someone have that last six months in peace with their family. Of course it should be between them and their doctor, and not up to government to decide.

There is a certain segment of the population who, if killed off in large numbers, would make life better for the rest of us.

The problem is defining that group who should be offed (and by extension, defining for whom life would be better if the target group were offed).

‘Rats believe that the cohort to be disposed of is old peeps and really sick peeps, and conservatives of any state of health. And the cohort that will benefit under their scheme is (to oversimplify) the Pajama Boy and Wendy Davis class.

I, on the other hand, believe that that cohort that should be exterminated it ‘RATS. Of any age, any color, any socioeconomic status. And the cohort that will benefit is God-fearing, working, morally upright Americans.

Let the games begin!

..if your Conservative, you die, if your a liberal, you live
-

You’re absolutely right. Except they won’t care if one is elderly and “a burden on the State”.

I told an elderly liberal woman to just wait until Amnesty kicks in and she’ll be put in the back of the health care line behind all the pregnant illegals. She just looked at me but I could tell it made her think.

I also told her that anyone voting for Obama should be ashamed and her grandchildren were going to suffer because of that evil bastard. I used those exact words because I hope I offend the idiots.

>> with stage 4 or 5 cancer

What is Stage 5? I only know of Stage 4: cancer that has metastasized to distant regions of the body. (For those cancers that are staged that way.)

When considering matters of life and death, it is important to note that the Creator is aware of our condition and has entered into history in the flesh of Christ Jesus, Whose life and righteousness avails for all people for all time. While the government and other supposed authorities may appear to be stronger than all, in fact they are not. The snarling, grabbing, self-absorbed seekers of power in this world have been defeated and will receive their due reward. A new creation awaits those who, in weakness, wait quietly for the LORD.
