We were robbed of such experiences in our youth!
To get such senses of confusion, we had to watch the news on TV as people like Jimmy Carter babbled idiotically.

Now you just have to use Tamiflu.

It’s gone!

Wasn't much fun to play with. Sort of like going bass fishing and snagging an old boot instead. No fight. No redeeming social value. No flavor. And the smoke stinks if you burn it... ;-)

So you’re still claiming that T.W. Shannon is a “GOPe candidate” in the OK Senate race? LMAO!

I didn’t say that you support Rand Paul for President (you made clear that you support Ted Cruz, not that he’s expressed much interest yet), I said that Rand Paul is “your boy” and that you think he’d be a “good presidential candidate.” I attributed such positions to you because your support for Paultards such as Bevin and Brannon for the U.S. Senate (in their first run for public office) usually goes hand-in-hand with admiration for all things Paulistinian. If you agree with me that Rand Paul would make a terrible presidential candidate (and a worse president), then I apologize for my incorrect assumption.

I support Chris McDaniel over Senator Thad Cochrane for the U.S. Senate seat from MS. I’m still not sure which conservative to support in the SC Senate race, but even if my eventual pick doesn’t make the run-off I will support the non-Lindsey Republican over Lindsey Graham. I support Katrina Pierson over Pete Sessions in TX-32. I’m leaning towards supporting Mike Kicinski against RINO Richard Hanna in NY-22 (although I need to do some more research). Do you know what those primaries have in common? They pit good conservative candidates against far more liberal, establishment-minded incumbents. But I’m not going to support some Paultard with no record based on their unsubstantiated claim that he’s “a real conservative” against (admittedly imperfect) candidates with a longstanding, mostly conservative records.

You seem to ask “which one is supported by “establishment” figures and which one is supported by people who claim to be “anti-establishment,”” and then pick the candidate that the self-anointed “anti-establishment” folks (who often are disguised Paulbots) like, irrespective of how crappy he is or whether we know anything about him. You should try actual thinking for yourself sometime.

Just a question...
What has Bevin done for you to call him a paultard or paulistinian?

Yup. That’ll get you a one way ride on ol’ sparky.

Actually, that might have been suicide by mod. Sorry to see a class of 2000 member decide to throw it all away.

Wasn’t a Mod, it was Jim. I really don’t know what caused that, but it was spectacular.

Well, the Daily Paul folks consider Matt Bevin to be one of their own: http://www.dailypaul.com/299381/please-vet-matt-bevin-matt-bevin-to-primary-mitch-mcconnell-in-2014

Bevin claims that his foreign-policy views are similar to those of Ron Paul: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?422465-Kentucky-Kate-Is-Matt-Bevin-the-Real-Deal

Bevin can’t get full-throttle Paulbot support, though (unlike Thomas Massie in the 2012 KY-04 race), because Paulistinian scion Rand Paul endorsed Mitch McConnell for reelection last year as a way of paving the ground for his own reelection and/or a presidential run.

“So you’re still claiming that T.W. Shannon is a “GOPe candidate” in the OK Senate race?...”
******************************************************************

H2O,

Your thinking and comments are rather scattershot and unfocused. This thread is about Kentucky and “Leader” McConnell and the 2014 race for Senator from Kentucky.

I’ll say again that you’ll NEVER find a posting from me stating that Rand Paul is either “my boy” or a “good presidential candidate”. Period! You however have made clear who you support in this thread’s Senate race—and that is the GOPe (in ANYBODY’s definition) candidate Mitch McConnell. To advance the cause of McConnell, you’ve taken shots at his primary challenger in THIS THREAD. Period!

Dead even? That’s weak, like loser weak. This is TN and because Obama.

Shouldn’t this be the time where the GOPe compromises with us and McConnnell steps aside for the more electable candidate?

Your posts are excellent. Good analysis and info. I wasn’t aware at how flawed Bevin is. Thanks.

You accused me of supporting the “GOPe candidate” “in yet another race.” The first thread in which you slung that same stupid allegation at me was in a thread about the OK Senate special election, in which someone posted that “whoever Rove and McConnell endorse must be the GOPe candidate,” and I noted that even if those two endorsed conservative Speaker T.W. Shannon it wouldn’t mean that Shannon is anything but a solid conservative. The word “GOPe” set off your nervous tick, and you jumped in to claim that I must be some sort of “GOPe apologist” or something, just because I support T.W. Shannon for the Senate (while you claimed that Congressman Bridenstine was the only person in the entire state of OK conservative enough to deserve to get elected to the Senate). So, yes, if you risibly claim that I’m a “GOPe supporter” “in yet another race,” I will ridicule your claims in that prior race in which you tried to besmirch my conservative bona fides.

Tell me, who did you support in the NC-05 primary in 2004? The OH-04 primary in 2006? The MI-07 primary in 2006? The SC-04 primary in 2010? The PA Senate primary in 2004? The SC Senate primary in 2004? The MI Senate primary in 2006? The GA Senate primary in 2004? The TN Senate primary in 2006? The UT Senate convention/primary in 2010? The TX Senate primary in 2010? The AK Senate primary in 2010? I’ll put my record of supporting conservatives in GOP primaries against anyone’s.

You’re welcome.

We need to look not only at candidates’ words, but their deeds as well (by their fruits we shall know them), and whether their background and experience is consistent with being able to win the election. And we must be wary of blank slates that suddenly claim the “Tea Party” mantle—it’s uncanny how many of these erstwhile unknowns who suddenly raise a lot of money and claim to be “Tea Party leaders” are actually Ron Paul disciples (who are anything but traditional conservatives). But even those with a public record may try to pull the wool over our eyes: remember when ultraliberal RINO ex-Congressman Tom Campbell tried to claim to be a “Tea Party” candidate in the 2010 CA Senate primary?
