So, I'm a Millennial and a leftist. Zot away (Froggy Mod says "Adieu")

Posted on 02/24/2014 3:17:38 PM PST by Millennial Lefty

So, I lurk on Free Republic quite a bit. Usually it's to read some of the outrageous comments some post here and some of it is to see what your opinions are on certain articles that also get posted elsewhere.

So, a little bit about myself. I'm in my 20s and of Hispanic origin. I was born in New York but moved to Florida when I was three years old. I'm what you guys would consider a "socialist". I don't consider myself a socialist, I'm a supporter of the free market economy except I favor strong government regulations.

While on many issues am probably to the left of the Democratic Party there is one issue I agree with the Republicans but it isn't an issue that would ever sway me to vote for the Republican Party. That issue is gun rights. I love guns and I believe the 2nd amendment is a fundamental right to the people of the United States. I don't believe in a ban on "assault" weapons or on accessories like there is on certain sized magazines. I also support the right for one to properly defend themselves with or without deadly force with your legally owned firearm.

However, on economic and social issues I side with the DNC. I'm probably to the left of the DNC on most issues.

So anyways, ask away.

Do you remember when W declared on signing that he would make exemptions to provisions in that law?
What did he call it?

seeing things through a 60s prism which isn’t even their own, that they are the iconoclasts. These days, being a conservative is revolutionary-after all, who is the establishment now?

They are the Antidisestablishmentarians!

Sounds like when mommy and daddy took you south to Florida, they ran out of money, cause they should have kept going to the southern most part of the state then swam the extra 90 miles. You’d be SO much happier there.

That's like saying you're not a prostitute, you just trade sex for money.

I was going to say you better not come before she
does, but I’ll refrain in the interests of good

surfing history is...interesting.

Actually it's pretty boring. But there is this issue with having an ..@yahoo.com secondary email address (or hotmail, gmail, aol... ) Yahoo's spam filter catches 99% of them and rarely puts a 'real' email as spam, so I usually don't bother checking the content of the spam folder, I just delete it.

Grace, going back to what you pinged me on the other thread, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3126557/posts?page=47#47

It ties in to Esau

The progenitor of the Edomites

We all know how we should deal with them

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea we wept when we remembered Zion.

Remember, O lord, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem who said, "Raze it, raze it, even to the foundation."

O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed. Happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones- Psalm 137

I was kind to him.

If anyone abused him it was because he axed for it.

With fewer regulations against private property rights and productivity, we could build our own efficient homes, build more clean energy systems (google rocket mass stoves, solar radiant heating systems, etc.), do more gardening for ourselves and make needed parts and products in our own small shops. Something else we could agree on?
